Lady

Please meet little Lady! She is a merle Australian Shepherd who is about five years old. Her owner is elderly, and can no longer take her for walks, and so Lady isn't getting all the exercise an Aussie needs.

Lady's blindness is due to genetics- the result of breeding two merle (spotted coat) Aussies. These are referred to as "double merles". Click here for more information on this very common condition.

Lady has already been spayed, and is heartworm negative. The vet clinic where she was last treated says she's a very sweet girl, and they really hope we can find her a great home.

Lady is currently living in Florida.

Peanut and Starr

Peanut (female) and Starr (male) are both Tibetan Terriers, siblings from the same litter. They were born mostly blind, and may possibly have hydrocephalus.

These sweet two pound pups are located in Vermont. Despite their conditions, they are quite strong and are nursing well. Since they are only four weeks old (as of October 30th), they cannot be moved for another four weeks.

Please consider giving these two a chance at a rich life.

Peanut (female)
Starr (male)

Update: We received some sad news today. Little Peanut and her brother Chance (who may also have the same condition) are being put to sleep today. Their conditions worsened quickly and they were suffering a great deal. Starr may still be coming to BDRA however.

Rest in peace Peanut and Chance...

Henry

Please meet sweet senior Chihuahua mix, Henry. He's elderly, and we're not sure of his exact age. He only weighs about 8 lbs, is mostly deaf and also has cataracts.

Henry is already neutered and is heartworm negative. His current home (in Virginia) says he just wants to cuddle, and needs to be let out every five hours or so.

This elderly gentleman needs a second chance!

Elsie

Elsie is a German wirehair pointer, whose owner sadly has passed away. Her owner's family is looking for a loving forever home or a foster placement for Elsie.

Elsie is spayed, weighs between 60-75lbs, and is blind due to cataracts. She is about six years old.

Who can resist this face?
