Sex: Male (not altered)
Age: 6 or 7 years
Breed: Yellow Labrador
Location: Central California

Vet Info: No vet. Owner picked him up as a stray and cannot afford to take him to a vet.

Owner Info: Tarzan, a yellow lab, was found on the streets with a body score of 2, per his current owner (he was covered with fleas, had an eye infection and was half starved). His hearing is just fine, and so is his nose with food. He takes treats from the hand softly. He gets really excited with my son. He barks and his tail wags as he jumps up and down. He is an awesome dog!

Dolly - In Foster Care

Name: Dolly
Sex: Female (not altered)
Age: 5 - 7 years
Breed: Walker Hound?
Location: Central Virginia

Vet Info: Dolly is HW neg but does have Ehrlichea. She is on Doxycycline for 28 days. Her owner has given her the DHPP vaccine, Drontal, and Frontline, but has not done the Bordatella yet.  Dolly has also not received her rabies vaccine yet due to the Ehrlichia.  Dolly weighs 50 pounds.

Owner Info: Dolly was pulled by rescue from a local pound where she had just given birth to 6 pups.  They are moving her to another building away from the pups so she can dry up, and they will take her to a local vet to be spayed within the next 6 weeks or so.  She is approximately 90% blind - sees shadows, some light. The chance of finding her a home where she was found is highly unlikely. The small rescue that pulled her is trying to find her more opportunities of being rescued and cared for.  They have been searching for foster homes and other rescues so far.  Dolly is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She is a very laid back girl who is good with people of all ages, and both male and female dogs and cats!  Dolly is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never shown any aggression. They say that she has an auto immune disease that has caused her visual impairment. She is on eye ointment 2x daily for life.

Zip (Ellie) - Adopted

Name: Zip (given name: Ellie)
Sex: Female (altered)
Age: 4 years
Breed: Blue Heeler
Location: Wyoming

Vet Info: Zip is current on her rabies and distemper. She was tested for HW in May and was negative and has been on Heartgard. Her health is good and she weighs 42 pounds. She is spayed. She has been brought in for routine vet care. The veterinarian ophthalmologist said that Zip was seen in July 2012 and diagnosed with glaucoma and luxating lenses. Medication was prescribed. By October 2012, the pressure in both eyes was not able to be controlled. Laser surgery was completed to kill the part of each eye that produces fluid in order to help maintain the pressure. The lenses were also removed. It will be into November 2012 before it can be determined if the pressure has gone down.

Owner Info: Zip is a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler). Her given name is Ellie but her owner calls her Zip, Zip-a-do and Zippers. She is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is housebroken and leash-trained. She also understands "sit," "lay down" and "stay." Her owner describes her as outgoing but can be nervous. She is good with men, women, teenagers, cats and male dogs. She currently lives with a beagle and a cat. She is not possessive of food, treats, or toys and has never bitten or snapped at anyone. The owner says that she had surgery to remove her lenses of her eyes and had a spike with her pressures following surgery which damaged her optic nerve which resulted in blindness. She is very healthy. The owner writes: "We have a 3 month old son and we feel that she could bump into him or possibly bite if spooked. We have a very busy lifestyle. I work long hours (16.5 hours a day) and the wife is a stay at home mom that has lots on her daily list. We love this dog very much and hate to have her euthanized but if not fostered/adopted, this will be required."

Paris - In Memory

Name: Paris
Sex: Female (not altered)
Breed: Bouvier
Age: 3 months
Location: Elmira, MI

Vet/Medical Info: Vet saw this dog under the name of "Faith" right after the Owner got her. She had diarrhea but tested negative for parvo, and the diarrhea resolved.  The vet had no other information on this puppy and no care was provided (no shots, etc).

Owner Info: Owner got Faith when she was 6 weeks old and weighed only a pound a half.  She was not growing well or being well cared for.  They renamed her "Paris."  Owner has given her the first distemper shot on 9/10/12.  She said the health of the puppy is good.  Paris does not come when called but does come when she hears a box of her treats being shaken.  Owner cannot get her housetrained because "she can't see where to go."  Therefore, she has put her outside in a kennel under a tarp, although when it rains, the rain on the tarp scares Paris so she brings her in until the rain stops.    The owner said Paris is "loving and affectionate."  She gets along with most of the 15 barn cats on the property.  Once the owner let Paris out the door and Paris got lost, and it took the owner 30 minutes to find her.  Paris has snapped at her a few times . Owner said that she waited a long time to get a Bouvier, and they have raised litters of Bouviers, but cannot keep Paris because she may snap at the grandchildren, she is hard to housetrain, she can't be let out the door to wander on their 40 acre property without getting lost, and the owner has her elderly mother to care for who takes a lot of her time.

Aggie - In BDRA Foster Care

Name: Aggie
Sex: Female (altered)
Age: 10 years
Breed: Boston Terrier
Location: Houston, TX

Vet Info: Aggie had a three year rabies on 9/14/11 along with a distemper shot. She is HW negative. She has been spayed. The vet did not have a diagnosis for her vision issues and recommended a visit to an ophthalmologist which, as far as this vet knows, has not been done. When last seen on 3/15/12, Aggie had three masses and mast cells were detected. The vet recommended immediate removal and, as far as the vet knows, this has not been done. Otherwise, Aggie is healthy (good heart, lungs, teeth).

Owner Info: Aggie's owner is in a nursing home and won't be able to return to Aggie, so the owner's daughter is desperately looking for a new home for Aggie. Her dad had Aggie for five years. Aggie is a ten year old Boston Terrier who weighs about 30 pounds. She is an indoor dog who is house trained and leash trained, and knows the following commands: stay, sit, come. She is good with adults and with female dogs. As far as the daughter knows, Aggie has never snapped or bitten anyone. When asked about the tumors, the daughter said she recently followed up with the vet, and the vet said that removal is still recommended but it would be OK if they weren't removed. She also said that now that Aggie's eyesight has changed (they think it is glaucoma), she is more timid and sleeps a lot, although eats well and loves to be around people, and has a loving disposition. She would make a great companion for someone who is home a lot!

Location: Point Pleasant, NJ

Vet/Medical Info: Pickles is up to date on her rabies and distemper; she had a three year shot for each on 2/23/10. She is HW negative and has been spayed. Owner Info: DOB November 2005. Pickles is a beautiful English Bulldog who is going blind in both eyes. The owner has two young children and is worried Pickles may bite them by mistake so wants her to be rehomed. The owner has had Pickles since she was 9 weeks old. She weighs 62 pounds and will be 7 years old this November. Pickles is an indoor dog who is house trained and leash trained. She is an outgoing girl who gets along with people. Pickles is not possessive of treats or toys and has never shown aggression toward any person or any animal. The family also owns a tea cup Yorkie. She takes eye drops during the day and her eyes need to be cleaned each day too. Her owner says she has skin allergies common to English Bulldogs and also has "ear issues." The owner also said that "she is a sweet Bully and I don't really want to have to go this route (to rehome her) but I have a responsibility towards the safety of my children."

Dan - Adopted

Name: Dan
Sex: Male (altered)
Age: Approximately 2 years
Breed: Schnauzer
Location: Clintwood, VA

Vet Info: Dan is up to date on vaccines and is neutered.  His next rabies vaccine is due 8/2013.  Dan has not had a recent heartworm test.  According to his caregiver, he will be neutered on October 10th.  Dan weighs 15 pounds.

Owner Info: Dan is with a very small rescue in Virginia.  They recently rescued him from their local shelter where he was found starved and in very bad shape.  Dan has recovered fully from a skin rash caused by flea and ticks and no proper care. He was in a vet's care for 2 months before they got him.   His foster mom's schedule, however, isn't cooperating with the needs and time Dan needs. They have listed him on their website and FB with no luck.  He is an indoor dog who is crated.  He is not housebroken, but he is leash trained.  Dan knows "come", and is good with people of all ages, and both male and female dogs.  He has never shown any aggression.  He is a wonderful dog who absolutely loves life! :-)

Bo

Name: Bo
Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Hound Mix
Age: Approximately 7 years
Location: Monroe City, MO

Vet Info: 10/1/12 - Bo had a rabies and distemper in 2009, both are expired.  The vet verified that he is neutered.  The vet had no other information.  Bo has not been to the vet since 2009. Bo weighs about 50 pounds.

Owner Info: Bo lives outside in a pen and – he needs and wants a new home so badly!  Bo is a friendly, medium sized hound who is neutered. He was found as a stray, and the current owner has had him for about 7 years. He is not housebroken but has been in 4-H obedience classes!  He would need some practice to remember what he has learned.  He is good with men, women, and children but would be best as the only pet as he may fight with other dogs.  He really does love people, and loves attention.  One of his eyes is removed and he is blind in the other but his health is good.
