His owners say "Tobin is sweet and handsome.dog..he is big but doesn't have a mean bone in body..we love him and are hopeful to find him a safe Haven with folks who can provide love and care..I am fearful he will injure himself at our home when we are gone." Tobin is good with children, cats and dogs. He isn't possessive over food or toys. He is a bit anxious but due to not really understanding what has happened to him. He is housebroken and leash trained and knows some commands like "sit." He just needs someone that can take the time to help him adapt to his new life. His owners also said, "He used to chase squirrels and I used to complain about how hard it was to walk him because of squirrels.  Oh how I wish he could be that dog again.  I know he does too…. Tobin is a beautiful dog. He was crazy fun and hyper before losing his vision and now just walks around in a daze and sleeps mostly.  He seems terribly depressed and it’s tearing us up."

Mooshie - In Foster Care

Name: Mooshie
Age: 8 years
Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Maltese
Location: Northeast Ohio

Vet Info: Mooshie is confirmed neutered. He received the one year 5 in 1 (DAP and Parvovirus) and Influenza vaccines, and the intra-nasal Bordetella booster on 7/25/15. He received a three-year rabies vaccine on 10/26/2014. Per his owner, Mooshie is heartworm negative, but this has not been verified. After being attacked, Mooshie had one eye removed. He has no vision remaining in the other eye. Mooshie weighs 8 pounds.

Owner Info: Mooshie is an adorable Maltese who was rescued from a kill shelter three years ago after being attacked by a bigger dog. He has never really gotten along with the other rescue dog in the house and his owners recently had a baby which has caused a lot of stress for Mooshie. His owners have tried a dog trainer to make him less nervous around the baby but to no avail.  They have already reached out to family and friends and small dog rescues but It seems no one has a foster home available for our dog. Mooshie is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. He is housebroken and leash-trained. He knows commands, sit, stay, and careful (slow down so as not to bump into something). Mooshie is outgoing but can also be nervous. Mooshie lives in a house with three cats, a fox terrier and a collie mix. Mooshie can be possessive of food and treats.  His owner says, “don't go near him when he's eating a treat or chewing his rawhide. He's snapped at our collie (often) and will snap at but not break skin on someone that's new that tries to pet him too quickly, he needs people to take it slow. Mooshie’s owners feel he would do best in a quiet home with no children under 12 and only cats or other small dogs. They want us to know he gets around great for being blind and will adjust well to new surroundings!

Scout - Outcome Unknown

Name: Scout
Age: 10 years
Breed: Border Collie Mix
Sex: Male (altered)
Location: Philadelphia

Vet Info: Scout in confirmed neutered, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm preventative.  He weighs about 50 pounds.

Owner Info: Scout is a very handsome fellow who was surrendered by his owners to his dog walker.  His dog walker is unable to care for him financially, and friends are currently helping her to pay for food and vet care.  A friend has reached out on Scout's behalf, and they are very much hoping for rescue. Scout is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, he is housebroken and leash trained.  Our contact writes that he must be on a leash at all times.  "He can't be allowed to get out of the house or he will start to walk/run away. He doesn't respond to come/ stay etc. He is very treat motivated and have had to entice him with food. Fortunately, he hasn't gotten far, but I do believe because of his cataracts, he will start to bark at anybody, which is less than an ideal situation because most people would be afraid that he would bite." Scout is good with men and women, and male and female dogs, but barks at cats.  He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  Scout had one incident that his contact has shared with us:  Scout’s current caretaker received a bite/dent/scratch after returning home from being out of the house for more than 8 hours and getting Scout ready to go out to potty.  Other than that, there have been no incidents, and his vet's office reports that they never had any problems with him or saw any biting behavior.  Scout has cataracts. and while he may not be completely blind, his contact writes that he "may not see clearly".  She also tells us, "He is UTD on shots. Has a mild heart murmur and calcification of his teeth. The vet does seem to be bothered by this. I am unaware of the dog seen a opthalmologist, but because of his heart condition, he would need a see what the condition of his murmur before any type of cataract surgery... right now that is not an option due to monetary concerns." She also wants us to know, "Scout really needs a home that is calm, quiet, ideally a fenced in yard - probably high fence as he can jump. Also, although he is housebroken, he seems to need to poop right away in the morning and must go out as soon as someone wakes up."  Scout's contact wishes she could keep him, but she has cats.  She writes, "I am heartbroken that I couldn't keep him forever. :( "
