Owner Info: Sapphire is a Yorkshire
terrier who has gone blind and is having a hard time adapting. She is an indoor
dog with run of the house, housebroken and leash-trained. She has not had
formal training but knows the commands, sit, down, and stay. She is bonded to
her owner and mostly ignores the rest of the family. She has shown aggression
toward other dogs and people, especially children. The owner writes, “she
snapped at my young nephew (7years old) once and the snap resulted in a scratch
on my nephew's nose.” Her owner says, "Our Yorkie began going blind over 3 months ago. She is
now so visually impaired that our family is unable to provide her the requisite
care she needs due to her impairment. We would rather see her rehomed with
someone who can properly care for her in her current state than to have her put
down".
