Ollie - In NC Yorkie Foster Home

Name: Ollie
Sex: Male (intact)
Breed: Yorkie/Pug Mix
Age: 2-4 years
Location: Stuart, VA

Vet/Medical Info: Ollie does not have a vet. Paws give their own vaccinations so there is no vet record of it, they are happy to also give him a rabies shot if they can find an outlet for him. He has been wormed with Drontal.

Owner Info: Ollie is in a foster home with Paws Rescue, they rescued him from the county pound. Vet says he sees nothing but foster home thinks he sees movement. Was traumatised at pound but is coming around very well. Ollie is a shy but affectionate boy, he’s good with people, loves other dogs and cats, children would be very scary for him. He is 10 pounds and still a little underweight, has an underbite. Ollie’s foster home has 13 dogs at present and is finding it difficult to accommodate him, they have older dogs and Ollie gets on their nerves – Ollie loves them and just wants to play.

Lucky - Adopted

Goofy - In BDRA Foster Home

Name: Goofy
Sex: Female (altered)
Breed: GSD Mix
Age: 7-9 years
Location: Portland, CT
Vet/Medical Info: Vaccination and heartworm tests were given in Danfield, where Goofy was adopted from. Goofy has diabetes and has insulin daily. She has been spayed.

Owner Info: Goofy’s current owner rescued her from vet when her old owners took her in to be PTS. Goofy is blind as a result of her diabetes not being addressed sooner. Her owner has been laid off work and cannot afford to keep Goofy, she said Goofy is such a sweetheart and if she had the time and money she would keep her. She is a candidate for surgery but her owner cannot afford it. She is an indoor dog, house broken and leash trained, she knows basis commands including ‘stairs’ to help her know where the steps are. Goofy is great with adults and loves children, she is good with dogs, cats and other small animals. She is a little bit overweight due to lack of time and exercise.

Precious - Adopted

Name: Precious
Sex: Female (intact)
Breed: Chihuahua mix?
Age: 4 years
Location: Clover, SC
Vet/Medical Info: Precious has not been to see a vet
Owner Info: Precious was taken in by her current owner for someone that could no longer care for her. She has tried to find a home but been unsuccessful. She needs to find a home for her asap as is only allowed one dog in her home and her landlords have threatened to evict her. She does not want to have to take Precious to the pound. Precious is housetrained but not leash trained. She is a bit nervous and shy but is good with people. She is food possessive. She doesn't like people getting in her face and doesn't like kids until she gets to know them. Precious would be best in a foster home with no children, older children may be okay. Precious is overweight as you will see in photo. She can see shadows and appears to be deaf. We have been told her head is very wobbly. We suspect she may have some form of central blindness.

Pickles - In CARE Foster Home

Name: Pickles
Sex: Male (intact)
Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix
Age: 10 months
Location: Mountain Home, AR

Vet/Medical Info: Pickles has not yet been seen by vet but his past records confirm he has had rabies shot. The vet is pretty sure his blindness is genetic.
Owner Info: Pickles is currently being fostered by a wonderful lady that runs a Great Pyr rescue. His old owner was going to shoot Pickles along with two other Great Pyr, this lady took all three dogs. She is totally unequipped and inexperienced to do right by this sweet, affectionate boy and she feels he needs way more then she can offer him. Pickles is at least 90% blind and although he has not actually been diagnosed, it is strongly suspected that he has Canine Optic Nerve Hypoplasia as his litter brother was diagnosed with this condition by an Opthamologist and it is hereditary. He felt it was possible all littermates could have the same condition. His foster Mom has given Pickles Distemper/Parvo shots (5 way) and he has been given Ivermection for heartworm preventative. He has also been wormed. His foster Mom is willing to get his eyes checked at her local vet, although they have indicated they do not have a lot of experience with eye conditions. She is also happy to have him neutered if he is going to a good foster home or forever home. Since being in his foster home he has bonded with another foster dog and relies on him for direction.
