Gabe - In Foster Care
Name: Gabe
Sex: Male (neutered)
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 4 1/2 years
Location: Camillus, NY
Vet/Medical Info: Gabe is neutered and heartworm negative now after being treated for HW two years ago. He is up to date on rabies and distemper (they are not due until 5/22/14). Had bilateral enucleation due to pain caused by glaucoma. He weighs 41 pounds. They had no other relevant information.
Owner Information: Gabe is a sweet boy who came from a local rescue. He is an indoor dog with run of the house, and is housebroken and leash trained. He also knows many commands, including sit, shake, high five, stop, step up, and step down! Gabe's owner believes he needs to be in a single pet home. She says that he is a sweet guy who had been trapped in his own little world for a long time. He has done very well in their home and has come out of his shell. He has played with the other 2 dogs and is very much a "dog" at times. At other times, though, he has reacted inappropriately with the other dogs in the household and they have responded the same because they have trouble reading him. There have been dog fights because of this. He is not aggressive but defensive, and can be possessive with toys, treats, or food, however, he has never shown any aggression towards people. They feel that he adapts well to new situations, and said he has done better than expected in their household. He does like his routine - daily walks etc. He is in good health now that he's been successfully treated for heartworm and his eye problems have been resolved. He's a healthy weight with a very nice coat. They love Gabe dearly and only want the best for him.

Sox - IN BDRA Foster Care
Name: Sox
Sex: Male (not altered)
Breed: German Shepherd
Age: 16 weeks (DOB 2/20/12)
Location: Salem, AL
Vet/Medical Info: They did not administer Sox's vaccines but have a note in the chart that he was given vaccines at 7 weeks by the breeder. Sox has optic nerve hypoplasia and other than that, they said he appears to be a healthy pup. He did have acute diarrhea when he was there, but was likely frightened and that was "quickly taken care of!" He is not neutered. He weighs about 20 pounds at this time.
Owner Information: Sox's owner's friend breeds German Show bloodline German Shepherds. When one of the pups in her last litter was born blind, she volunteered to take him until she can find him a loving home, so he would not be euthanized. Sox is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, but they are working on potty training. They are also working on basic obedience. Sox is good with men, women, and kids, cats, and dogs, and has never shown any aggression. Other than blindness, he is a happy, playful pup. His owner says that although he is still young and figuring things out, he learns easily and fast!

No Name Labrador Mixes, Bonded Pair - Reunited With Owner
Name: Unknown
Sex: Male (altered) and Female (unknown if altered)
Breed: Labrador Mixes
Age: Estimated 5 years
Location: Knoxville, TN
Sex: Male (altered) and Female (unknown if altered)
Breed: Labrador Mixes
Age: Estimated 5 years
Location: Knoxville, TN
Vet/Medical Info: Because these dogs were found as strays we have been unable to verify any medical information.
Owner Info: These two dogs were found by a lady that has three dogs of her own and also fosters dogs. The black lab is a male and appears to be blind and neutered, the yellow lab is his seeing eye dog and it is unknown if she has been altered. Their caregiver has posted them on Young Williams lost and found center, Facebook, Craigslist, and put up signs. She also took them into vet to get scanned for microchips, the yellow one had a chip but number was disconnected and not in their area. At the moment they are living in their caregivers neighbors garage to keep them safe, they appear to be housebroken and leash trained, no accidents in garage and they walk nicely on leashes. These dogs both seem to know sit, down (lie down) and shake. Very sweet and well mannered and so sweet and patient. FRIENDLY. They are absolutely precious and so bonded. She thinks they were dumped in their neighborhood. The sighted dog seems to help the blind dog navigate. The blind one is understandably more cautious but has been so sweet when she washed him and handled him in the car, etc. Seem like they'd be fine with everyone. They didn't over react to her foster golden at all. They are both outgoing dogs who are good with men, women and teenagers. They have been great in her neighbor's garage and back yard. Very little barking, eating fine and wagging their tails at everyone. The blind one is more cautious, but very smart in that he feels his way around. His blond buddy helps him. It is absolutely precious. The black blind dog has very cloudy eyes as you can see in picture. When she took them for microchip scan, the vet assistant said, "glaucoma." He does not appear to see much at all. They seem healthy but they need to be checked out. Their caregiver can help as able but is strapped with her own dogs and fosters. She will try to do what she can to help these two but is going out of town soon and is worried about them. They need somewhere safe where they can stay together.

Lulu - Adopted
Name: Lulu
Sex: Female (altered)Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Age: 6 years approximately
Location: Hope Mills, NC
Vet/Medical Info: Unable to verify Lulu’s medical history.
Owner Info: Lulu’s owner rescued her right before she was to be pts. She has three small children, a deployed husband, and is finding it difficult to care for her. Lulu is an inside dog with the run of the house, she is housebroken. She is an outgoing dog. Lulu resides with a German Shepherd, a Rottweiler pup, and a cat and gets along well with all. Lulu loves children and has taken a special liking to the owner’s 2-year-old son. She seems very adaptable and was able to map out her new home within 24 hours, even with the kids and their toys. Initially, the vet felt that her blindness may be due to diabetes, but all tests have come back negative. She is currently receiving treatment for bilateral ear infections. When Lulu’s owner adopted her, the shelter told her she was not spayed. She recently went in to be altered, but during the procedure it was found she had already been spayed, and she is now on the mend from that. Overall, she is healthy.

Fandogh - Adopted
Name: Fandogh
Sex: Male (not altered)
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 5 months
Location: Tehran, Iran
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 5 months
Location: Tehran, Iran
Vet/Medical Info: Medical info unable to be verified.
Owner Info: Fandogh is an adorable, blind, mixed breed five month old pup from Iran. In Iran, a pup like him doesn’t have a chance. His owner has reached out to us in desperation as her neighbors are complaining, Fandogh's only chance for a happy life is abroad. Fandogh was found at a construction site, weak and thin. He is an intact male. He’s an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, but his owner says he is housebroken and leash trained. He knows sit and come, and he’s good with men, women, and both male and female dogs. His owner says that he is current with vaccinations and is physically healthy and that the only problem is his eyes. An ERG test showed that the problem is from his brain. The light passes from retina, brain received it but cannot make an image. It is possible that travel arrangements to fly him to the US can be arranged.
