Owner
Info: Neyo
is a 7 - 10 year old completely blind min pin who stands about 16".
He has been with his current caregiver for four months. She was asked to
watch him for two weeks while his owner moved, but his owner never came back
for him, and his caregiver has been unable to reach his
previous owner. His caregiver is unable to keep him as they have three
young children and six animals of their own, and are having
difficulties. They are leaving on 5/23, so Neyo must find a new home
by Wednesday, May 22nd, or as much as it upsets and stresses her,
he will be taken to the shelter. His caregiver has reached out to
friends, family and other rescues, and has posted several times on CraigsList,
but has been unable to find Neyo a new home. "Neyo is a loving
minpin who does not let his blindness get in his way. He can go everywhere and
do everything! He can find the correct door to go out of or come into, he knows
where the couch, bed and food bowl are, and he knows where the people are. Neyo
is a very friendly boy and has not met a stranger! He likes everyone and will
welcome everyone. He is great with the kids he is currently living with (from 8
months old to 6 years old) and is good with other dogs and cats! He loves to
sleep in bed and do all the normal doggie things. “Neyo is an indoor dog
confined to one area of the house, he is housebroken and leash trained.
His caregiver writes, "He is a total doll baby. He was terrified at first.
He has transformed into a different dog over the past 4 months. He has learned
to trust. He is very lovey. Gets along well with my animals. Gets around great
after he learns his surroundings. He has a little crate that he LOVES. He loves
to sleep in it. We believe its his safety net." Neyo can be
possessive of treats, but will allow them to be taken out of his mouth.
He has never bitten or snapped. His caregiver says, "He has never
shown any aggression to me. He's not food aggressive but is with treats. But I
can talk to him and take the treat out of his mouth. But he does
growl."
"Just
please help this guy. I don't want him to go to shelter but I've done
everything I can do. Been very stressful with the 22nd fast approaching and
nobody interested in him".
