Name: Belle
Age: 3 years (born February, 2011)
Breed: Miniature Golden Doodle
Sex: Female (not altered)
Location: Western Ohio
Vet Info: Belle has only been to a vet
once, when her owners took her to confirm she was blind. She is not spayed. Her
owner says Belle has received the 7-way vaccination at home. She also says that
Belle has had the rabies vaccination but this has not been confirmed. She has
not been tested for heartworm. Belle weighs about 25 pounds.
Owner Info: Belle is a beautiful little
girl who was born blind. She is with her owner but they want to re-home her
because they are gone a lot and they're worried about her being alone so
much. Belle also sheds and they “were expecting a non-shedding
dog.” Belle was recently placed in another home but she was returned to her
owners after one week because she “didn’t like the dog at the house we tried to
re-home her with.” Belle is an indoor dog who has the run of the house. She is
house-broken and leash-trained and her owner describes her as outgoing, nervous
and good with men. Her owner says Belle is good with everyone but she is really
attached to her husband and “the family that tried to take her said she
attached herself to the father there.” Belle has never tried to bite or attack
anyone, although her owner said when she was in the other home, she “growled
and lunged at their little girl” and when she came back from that home she
“lunged and snapped at my 7 year old daughter.” The owner writes, “I think it
was probably too much for her, too different. She has only ever been with us”
and “she may have been all worked up from the change she had been through. I
think that may be why she lunged at my daughter. She has been fine since she’s
settled back in.” Her owner writes, “Belle has always growled a little when she
is startled or her space is invaded.” Regarding other dogs, her owner states
that the only other dog Belle has been around, besides the dog that she acted
aggressively towards at the other home, is Belle’s mother, who also lives with
the family. For this reason, Belle’s owner thinks that she would do best in a home
without other dogs. Her owner says Belle is “the sweetest thing” and “she just
goes with the flow and tries to get everyone’s attention and love. She loves to
be petted.” Belle was even “used for a 4H project.” Additionally, she says, “We
are gone a lot with working and kid’s activities, I don't like her being alone
so much. The dog hair is too much for me to handle.”
