Name: Lucy
Age: 7 years
Breed: Maltese /
Schnauzer Mix
Sex: Female (altered)
Location: Cincinnati,
OH area (KY)
Vet Info: Lucy is
confirmed spayed and was heartworm negative in 2011. She is not up to
date on vaccines. Lucy weighs about 13 pounds.
Owner Info: Lucy is an
adorable little girl who was diagnosed with SARDS a little over a year
ago. Her owner had help at the time and was able to meet Lucy's needs,
but she no longer has help and is not home often. She also recently found
out she is pregnant and due in April. She knows she will be unable to
care for Lucy and her newborn, and is hoping to rehome Lucy very soon.
Lucy's owner writes that she is at least 80% blind. Lucy is an indoor dog with
run of the house, she is housebroken but not leash trained. Lucy knows
the command, Sit! She is good with both men and women, and male and
female dogs, and currently lives with another dog and a hedgehog. We
asked if Lucy was good with cats, and her owner wrote, "She has never
been around cats, so I do not know how she would respond. I do have a hedgehog
and she doesn't bother her in the slightest. She wants to sniff her, but
nothing more." Lucy is not possessive of toys, treats, or food
and has never bitten or snapped. Her owner told us Lucy likes to have her
cage open and available to lay and sleep in, and may not like when other
animals go near. She gave us more details: "Her crate stays
up and open and always has. She only growls when other animals (not people) get
near it. She has never bitten anyone. My cousin and her five year old are
currently staying with me and my three year old niece is here all the time and
she has never shown any aggressive tendencies towards them." Lucy's
owner is very much hoping we can help. "I just want someone who
will love her and give her what I am unable to."
