Owner
Info: Bubba is an Akita mix who has been with his current owners for
about 5 years but they now have an active one year old child and Bubba can get
startled and protective easily in an unpredictable environment. They have tried
many avenues to find Bubba a new home with no luck yet. They write, “Bubba is
a good dog but his blindness prevents him from being fully aware and trusting
his environment and other people/animals.”
Bubba is an indoor dog confined to one area
of the house. He is house-broken and leash-trained. Bubba is described as
nervous and shy. Bubba's owner says Bubba occasionally shows aggression toward
her husband if he startles him while sleeping or plays too rough. She says he
is very protective around the baby. There was an incident a few months ago when
Bubba snapped at his owner when he was trying to get Bubba out of the bedroom.
It was dark and Bubba was sleeping next to the baby's crib. Bubba's owner
grabbed his collar and Bubba snapped at him. His owners also have a female
husky and she and Bubba get along fine. Bubba is not possessive of toys, treats
or food.
Bubba's owners also say
Bubba is in great health other than his eyes. He is very energetic and loves to
run and jump and take walks.
