Name: Molly
Age: Estimated 6 1/2 years
Breed: Mixed, possibly
Schnauzer Mix?
Sex: Female (altered per
owners)
Location: Jackson
County, TN
Vet Info: Molly is spayed
and up to date on vaccines per her owners, but this has not yet been
confirmed. I will update once this has been confirmed. She has not
had a recent heartworm test. Molly is diabetic and is on Vetsulin and a
prescription food. Molly weighs about 16 1/2 pounds.
Owner Info: Molly is a
beautiful mix who is in desperate need of rescue. Her owners are on a
fixed income and the husband has been diagnosed with cancer. Molly is
diabetic, and they are no longer able to afford her care. They write,
"we can no longer afford to keep her, the medications etc. we are on a
fixed income and cannot afford all her needs." Their
current vial of insulin is just about out. Molly's new insulin will be
paid for with a donation, so Molly should be OK for the next month; however she
should be considered urgent.
They got Molly from a friends who no
longer wanted her, and they immediately fell in love with her. They have
had Molly for four years.
Molly is an indoor dog with run of
the house, she is housebroken and leash trained. She is good with women
and men, but hasn't been around other dogs. Her owners tell us that Molly
likes her food in one place. She doesn't really enjoy the prescription
food, so they boil chicken for her occasionally, and she really loves that!
Molly has never bitten, but she did
snap once at a cat that wandered by. Molly is a friendly and smart little
girl! They've had friends over and Molly is fine with everybody.
They also tell us she does okay at other houses. Molly knows the
commands, Sit, Stay, and Go for a Walk.
Molly has cataracts in both eyes and
her owners write that she can't see anything. Other than her diabetes,
they tell us she is in good health. They also want us to know how sweet
Molly is! "Molly is very lovable and easy to fall in love with."
Update 4/9/16: Molly is still waiting for rescue or a new
home! A new vial of Vetsulin, syringes, and two weeks of her prescription
food have been paid for with a donation, but she is still very much in need of
rescue or a new home!
