Vet Info: Stewie is confirmed neutered, UTD on
his vaccines and Heartworm negative. The Vet tech said that his owners take
really good care of Stewie to meet all of his needs. Stewie is 75 lbs. Stewie
is completely blind. He has a condition called oculoskeletal dysplasia. As a
result, his retinas are completely detached and he has dwarfism. His owner also
writes that Stewie needs Science Diet food due to his sensitive skin.
Owner Info: Stewie is an indoor
dog with the run of the house. He is housebroken, leash trained and knows some
commands like "sit." He has an outgoing and friendly disposition. He
is good with pretty much everyone including men, women, kids, other dogs and
cats!
Stewie is not possessive over treats,
toys or food and has never shown aggression toward animals or people.
As mentioned before, Stewie's family
is very invested in finding a good home or foster home for him. They write, "We have talked to
friends and family who may have been interested. Additionally, we attempted to
contact the woman who owned Stewie's mother and two brothers in hopes she might
be able to take him. We also reached out to one other shelter who specializes
in dogs with disabilities. No one is able to take him. the shelter offered to
put up his pictures and information for adoption." The owner also said,
"He is our furry child. It is so important to us that we find a
good home for him."
Stewie's family also says, "He is very
friendly with people. Additionally, he usually takes well to new surroundings.
He may want to be led around the house a little at first, but he usually
acclimates within an hour or so."
Stewie is just a big
love bug that needs a family that is going to love and spoil him like he has
been since he was a pup! His owner wants people to know that "Stewie
is a wonderful dog with a big heart. Anyone would be lucky to adopt him into
their family."
