Name: Belen
Age: Estimated 5 years
Breed: Shih Tzu
Sex: Female (altered)
Location: Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico
Vet Info: Belen's good samaritan took them to the vet
immediately. Belen received her one year rabies vaccine
on 8/9/16, and also received her DHLPP and Bordetella vaccines. Belen is
confirmed 4DX negative. Belen is also on heartworm and flea
preventative. Belen weighs about 10 pounds. Belen's good samaritan
tells us Belen was diagnosed with glaucoma, and is blind in both eyes.
Owner Info: Belen is an
adorable little girl who was abandoned with another little dog in a crate in
someone's garage. She and the other dog were rescued by a good
samaritan. Her good samaritan cannot keep Belen, and is desperately
hoping we can help! She tells us that Belen's chances for adoption in
Puerto Rico are not very good, and that a shelter would put them down.
Belen is an indoor dog confined to
one area of the house. She is housebroken but not leash trained.
Belen is very friendly and is good with people of all ages, and male and female
dogs! She currently lives with six large dogs and a cat, but the cat is
outside. Belen is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never
bitten or snapped.
Belen's good samaritan wants us to
know what a very sweet little girl she is! She writes, "A shelter
here in PR, will put them down, and they deserve a chance, because they are as
sweet as they can be.... Belen is very special, very sweet and lady like.
She hold her necessities, until i take her out to the grass, and when i take
her out she goes to the bathroom immediately. But i don't know if she is
completely house broken because she is not loose all around the house. Because
she falls by the stairs, and because i have 6 large size dogs, and they all
want to play but she is so tiny, i am afraid. She is a special pet, with a
great temperament. She eats well, she is a happy dog. She loves to be pet."
