Name: Juju
Age: 8 years
Breed: Terrier Mix
Sex: Male (altered)
Location: Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia
Vet Info: Juju is neutered,
vaccinated, and microchipped. He weighs about 17.5 pounds.
Owner Info: Juju
is a very special fellow living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. His owner
unexpectedly passed away and his owner's friend was unable to care for him, so
decided to have him put down. Open Paws Jeddah, a wonderful group of
volunteers who rescue and rehome abandoned dogs, rescued him. They have
been trying to rehome him without success and have reached out to us for help.
Juju appears
completely blind, but he can hear. He loves chicken, feta cheese, and
potato! He also enjoys roaming free in the house, taking walks
with the other dogs, and playing with the female pups!
Juju has some
defensive issues, and will snap/nip when he is touched in certain areas, but he
has never caused injury. Juju is now in an experienced foster home and is
slowly learning to trust, but it will take time. Treats are currently fed
to him by hand through a Baskerville muzzle.
We asked his foster
home for more information about Juju, and below are their answers:
Do you know if he'd
good with other dogs and cats?
A: He is fine with dogs, no issues at
all and doesn't seem to have an issue with cats.
Is he housebroken?
A: No, working on this
but he is 8 years old.
Do you know the cause
of his blindness?
A: No, both eyes are
just silver circles.
Does he have any other
health issues besides his blindness?
A: Seems very fit, bit
of skin abrasion but his coat is coming in nice, (he is very cute).
Can you give us more
details about his bites and when they occur?
A: Snaps when touched on front legs or
behind head, we keep him in a muzzle with no issue.
Does he lash out if
someone is doing something to him?
A: Picking him up, touching him quickly
sets off defensive snapping, must be clear here, it is only defensive
snapping. No other aggression, he is very confident.
Have his bites caused
injury, like stitches?
A: No, small "go
away" defensive nips only and the snapping is reduced greatly with
females, both canine and human.
Please don't let transport be an issue! Open
Paws Jeddah will take care of transportation to the US or Canada. They
write, "We truly feel that if he was sent to the states, he would have
a better chance of finding someone with the patience and experience to give him
the care he needs. We would take care of all expenses and processes regarding
his transportation and getting him to you. Please let me know if there's
anything you can do."
