Name: Luna
Age: 9 years
Breed: Labrador/Beagle Mix
Sex: Female (altered)
Location: North Potomac, MD
Vet Info: Luna is confirmed
spayed. She had a HW test back in 2010 and it was negative. She is UPT on
rabies vaccine. Luna went blind after being diagnosed with diabetes. She is
approximately 45 lbs.
Owner Info: Luna was adopted as
a puppy from someone who had a litter of pups. Her owner writes, "My
husband and I separated, and while she stayed in the home she lived her whole
life, she is by herself all day. It wasn't a problem in the past, but now that
she is blind, I believe she's become very depressed. She would do much better
in a home with more dogs, kids and people around her constantly." She also
shares that, "We have shared custody of the dog and we take her from
one house to the other when one of us travels for work. Lately, she's been
doing better in closed off areas like the kitchen when she's home alone, just
because of her impairment." Luna's owners really want her to find "a
happy home with other dogs that could potentially guide Luna." They feel
that she may be picking up on the emotions around her and as a result is depressed
which is upsetting them greatly.
Luna is an indoor dog with the run of
the house. She is housebroken and leash-trained. She was trained at Pet Smart
and knows several commands, including, "sit, paw, up, down, come and
responds to her name." She is very outgoing, good with men, women, children.
She doesn't have other dogs in the house but her owner feels that she would do
well with them. She is not aggressive and has never bitten or snapped at humans
or animals.
Does anyone have room for this sweet
girl so she can get back to her happy self again?
