Name: Wonder
Age: 1-2 years
Breed: Black Labrador
Sex: Male (not altered)
Location: Monroe, NC
Vet Info: Wonder is not
neutered. His finder writes that she has given him a vaccine. He
has not yet been heartworm tested. Wonder weighs about 65 pounds.
Owner Info: Wonder is a very
handsome and very sweet fellow who was found running on the highway in not very
good condition. His finders have cleaned him up and treated his wounds,
gave him a vaccine, wormed him, and started him on flea and tick
preventative. They are very much hoping to find a place for him to
go! They are unable to keep him because of their other dogs.
They have tried to find his owner,
but they write, "I do not feel like the owners will even try to find
him with the condition he was in when we found him."
Wonder appears completely blind, and
his finders tell us his eyes don't seem to bother him. They are unsure of
the cause of his blindness. Other than his blindness, they tell us that
he's in great health.
Wonder is not yet housebroken or
leash trained. "He is outside in a crate during the night and
inside on lead during the day. He doesn't walk around the house because he
doesn't want to. I am teaching him to sit and give paw. He is
learning to use me as his eyes."
Wonder is a very friendly and sweet
fellow, and good with people of all ages! He's also good with male and female
dogs, and lives with several other dogs. He is not possessive of toys,
treats, or food, and has never shown any aggression. His finders tell us,
"We have had him in many situations to test his temperament and he has
handled every situation very well with no biting, no fear, no attempt to growl
or show discomfort. He has been around goats, small dogs, medium sized
dogs and large dogs. He has also been around children ages 8 months to 9 years.
He has handled everything perfectly."
