He is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, he is not housebroken or leash trained.  He is described as "shy", and is a very sweet and friendly fellow!  He's good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  "...he is so sweet, he doesn't fight with no one and just tries to guide himself as much as he can, we were afraid the other rescues will try to attack him."

He can be possessive of food, but has never bitten or snapped.  The cause of his blindness is not known, but his rescuer writes that he has blue eyes.  She also tells us he's a happy boy!  "He is healthy he is just blind. He is a happy baby... he is just a nice calm fury friend. He is very good with other dogs and not aggressive at all. He is a sweet heart that didnt deserve for his owners to surrender him to death row just because of his condition with his eyes."

He has never bitten another dog nor person..He is now fed alone without any issues."

Beau is overweight and is on a special food, and he's doing well!   His current foster said he bonded very quickly, and they believe he will acclimate very well to a new home.
They add that
Beau is a sweet and gentle soul! He will greet you at the door and follow close to you. He likes to be near his person and will sleep at your feet. At bedtime he likes to be close by your side and loves to be petted and spoken to!

Nala

Name: Nala
Age: 9 years
Breed: Cocker Spaniel/Sheltie
Sex: Female (confirmed spayed)
Location: Goldsboro, NC

Vet Info: Nala is confirmed spayed and up to date on her rabies and bordetella vaccines.  She has not had a recent heartworm test.  Nala is diabetic and requires insulin.  Her owner writes that Nala is blind due to cataracts.  Her vet told her Nala may be able to see shadows, but her owner thinks she is completely blind.  Nala weighs about 30 pounds.

Owner Info: Nala is a beautiful and sweet girl whose owner has made the difficult decision to try to find her a new home.  Her owner writes, "The reason I wish to surrender Nala is because I feel that with the right family her quality of life would be greatly improved. A month after we found out she was blind and diabetic, my husband deployed. I have two children. I regrettfully miss doses of insulin frequently. To avoid her running into the children during evening hours, she is usually outside or in her crate. Which, she is not used to long hours being in the crate."

Nala is an indoor dog who is crated, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She's a smart girl, and knows the commands, Sit, Outside, and Crate.  Nala is good with people of all ages.  Her owner gave us more information about how she is with other dogs and cats:  "She does get along well with older dogs, but dogs with a little less energy. When she stayed at my friends house they have a larger dog that is two and they got  along great.  The only occurrence of really not getting along with other dogs is if they are aggressive toward her. She gets along really well with cats."

Nala is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped.  Her owner writes, "She is not aggressive. She is blind so she is cautious. But we have two small children and they are always playing with her and she does fine.  The only thing she used to do..before she went blind...she is a herding dog. She likes to chase and part of that is to nip at ankles. She has not done that since she went blind because she can't see anything but shadows."

Nala's owner tells us she adjusts well to new situations. "When she stayed at my friends house they do not have a fence. She stayed in the yard and returned when called. After the first few days, she was able to maneuver around the house to find water bowl and food bowl."

Nala is a very sweet girl and her owner is heartbroken thinking about surrendering her.  "Nala is a really good dog. She is obedient and is really loves to just be in your lap. For her medical condition: she needs insulin twice a day given as shot into her fatty tissue. She doesn't move a muscle when getting the shot....I am heartbroken to have to consider surrendering my dog. I won't surrender to a shelter or anything. I just would really like to give Nala the best possible quality of life and with my husband being gone I am not able to fully attend to her medical attention. She would do great with someone that is home during the day and can let her out and give her the insulin. She still loves to be outside and run around."

Age: 8 years
Sex: Female (altered)
Breed: Poodle
Location: Dallas, TX area

Vet Info: Fifi is confirmed spayed and up to date on vaccines.  She is due for her rabies vaccine on October 7, 2016.  Fifi's owners' daughter tells us she is heartworm negative, but this has not yet been confirmed.  Fifi weighs about 7 pounds.

Owner Info: Fifi is a beautiful little girl whose owners are unable to keep her.  Their daughter contacted us, and she told us that due to medical needs and hospital stays, her parents are unable to keep Fifi.  They have tried other rescues and Facebook, but have not yet had any luck in finding Fifi a new home.

Fifi has been with them for three years.  They got her from another family who had a small child that was rough with her.  Their daughter tells us that when they got Fifi three years ago, she was already partially blind due to Progressive Retinal Atrophy.  Other than her blindness, we are told she is pretty healthy, with "no issues on her checkups".

Fifi is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, she is housebroken but not leash trained.  Fifi is a friendly little girl, and is good with both men and women.  She also knows the command, Sit.  She doesn't currently live with other dogs, and their daughter is unsure how she may be with other dogs, but did tell us "I have a dog at my home, during time I Pet sit fifi at my home, she would growl at my dog if she sensed her near her food or water."

Fifi's owners' daughter wants us to know what a sweet girl she is and that she appreciates any help we can give!  "Fifi is very sweet and spunky, she walks areas until she is used to it, and get manuver as needed to get around. Listens well and responds to noises and voice. She is a very good watch dog, and loves to sit in lap and be held. I am unsure how she is with other dogs and she has been an only dog all her life. She loves to roam in my parents yard, and when she is in the pool room she is monitored. I have kept her in the laundry room while at my house due to rain and i dont have enclosed patio. Assistance is greatly appreciated."

Roxie is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She's a smart little girl and knows many commands, including Stop, Come here, Go eat, Go get a drink, Want a treat, and Need to go outside!

She is good with people of all ages and cats, but she has never lived with dogs.  Her owner gave us more details:   "In response to your question of whether she is good with other dogs she really hasn't been living with any. She did share her space with a indoor cat for about 9 years and did fine. I don't think that she is aggressive but just nervous due to her loss of eyesight and adjusts when she feels safe."
