Nike - Staying With Owner

Name:  Nike

Vet Info:  Nike is confirmed spayed.    She received a one-year rabies vaccine on December 16th and the DHP-PV vaccine on the same date.  She has not had a heartworm test.  Nike weighs approximately 17 pounds.

Owner Info:  Nike is a beautiful girl who was found on Labor Day.  Her owners were never found.  She is currently with a good samaritan who cannot keep her as she is on a limited income and already has four dogs. She is hoping for rescue for sweet Nike! Nike is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is not housebroken but is leash trained.  She's a smart girl and already knows several commands, including step up and step down and jump up and jump down.  She is good with men and women but doesn't live with any men.  She's also good with male and female dogs, but does try to chase cats.  Her good samaritan gave us more detail as Nike does not get along with one of the smaller dogs who will nip at her, which sometimes causes Nike to chase when she smells the dog nearby:  "...There is no men at my house to see how Nike would respond day to day. However a friend has a husband and a son and Nike was fine with them. Also when I took her to the vet she showed no signs of distress with the vet or his assistant. One of our dogs is a small dog 8LB smaller than Nike and that dog is a high strung dog and often will pick a fight with the other dogs. I have 4 dogs all small under 20 lb, my daughter has 2 two large dogs 50 lb and 75 lb. The only time Nike gets upset with any of them is when they play because they grral and move fast and are all over the place. So I usually pick her up and take her out of the way. Nike does not know how to play I have given her toys soft ones but she does not play with them. She will engage with her paws for play some times."   Nike will also startle if woken up out of a sleep without talking to her first and may snap.  She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  Nike has a cataract in one eye and her good samaritan is not sure what the problem is with her other eye.  She is currently on medication for an infected tooth and will need to have the tooth pulled.  She also has dysplasia but is in no pain.  Other than that, they write that she seems to be in good health! Nike's good samaritan says Nike adapts well to new situations. "I have taken her for short walks and don’t think she has been on one for a long time or not at all. She knows how to walk the yard and where the steps and ramp are. Nike knows her way around the house and can get up on the sofa by her self. She has adjusted to every one in the family furry and non furry very well. She eats good and only goes in the house if am gone more than a couple of hours." Her good samaritan wants us to know that Nike is a sweet dog who will do well in a new home!  

Jordan - Adopted

Vet Info: Jordan is confirmed spayed and heartworm negative.  She is not up to date on vaccines but her owner plans on having her vaccinated in January.  She weighs approximately 35 pounds.

Owner Info: Jordan is a beautiful girl who was adopted from a rescue/home that was "full of dogs".   Her adopter has another dog who is aggressive with Jordan and she is not able to give Jordan what she needs.  She also feels Jordan may be happier in a home with children as she loves her young grandson.  She says Jordan is "as sweet as can be!"  She is very much hoping for rescue. Jordan is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She knows several commands, including come, up, down, and she answers to her name.  Jordan is "crossed eyed".  Her owner thinks she can see a little bit, but she is not sure. Jordan is good with people of all ages and both male and female dogs.  Her owner gave us more information about how she is with other dogs:  "She is good with all dogs. The house she came from had dogs of all sorts, mostly big ones. She is used to playing with large dogs and that's probably why my schnauzer doesn't like her.  Jordan's tail has swiped her in the head more than a few times." Jordan is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped.  Her owner writes she is very loving and loves to sleep on the foot of the bed!  She tells us Jordan adapts well to new situations and isn't afraid.  "Yes, she is very unafraid of finding her way around, she likes to run around the yard in spite of her not being able to see, she finds her way upstairs and downstairs. She loves every person that comes in the door. She is very good on the leash and listens to commands. Just an all around great dog..... She is a beautiful loving dog who adores attention"

Sledge

Name: Sledge

Age: 6 years

Breed: Labrador/Chow Mix

Sex: Male (confirmed altered)

Location: Houston, TX area

Vet Info: Sledge is confirmed neutered and up to date on vaccines.  He was given a one year rabies vaccine on June 13, 2014, and also a puppy shot, minus the lepto.  He was tested for heartworm on the same day and is heartworm negative.  Fecal was also negative for parasites.  Sledge weighs about 60 pounds.

Owner Info: Sledge is a very handsome fellow whose owner is no longer able to care for him as she has two small children.  She's tried Craigslist and posting him at a few other places, but has been unable to find a new home for Sledge.  She is very much hoping we'll have a spot for him.  She's had Sledge since he was a puppy, where he was being given away at a local feed store. Sledge is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, he is housebroken and leash trained.  He is a friendly and loving boy, and good with people of all ages.  Sledge has never shown any aggression towards people, but since he lost his eyesight, he has become possessive over food and has shown aggression toward one of their dogs.  His owner writes that he did defend himself when their pitbull mix attacked him, but did not provoke the fight, and that he is not an aggressive dog.   They believe this was due to his sudden onset of blindness.  They believe Sledge has "glaucoma induced blindness. His eyesight is completely gone, his eyes bulge slightly and are 100% white."  Other than his blindness, they write that Sledge has no other health issues. We asked for more detail about how Sledge is with other dogs:  "He is fine with my blue healer, he used to be an inside dog along with my blue healer. But when we had our first child we moved him outside. Then we got our third dog the pitbull mix and about a year later sledge went blind. Two of them had gotten along fine before he went blind which was approximately two and half years ago.  He is a generally good natured dog and still very young and healthy minus his eyesight...If given enough time I am praying that he finds a good home that can give him more attention than I can."  They feel Sledge adapts well to new situations "as long as he has a leader to tell him where to go so he wont hurt himself running into things. He is very high energy so if left alone he can hurt his head a great deal."  They add that Sledge is a loving dog, and he just loves to the fullest!  

Update 9/5/16: We've heard from Sledge's owner, and Sledge is still in need of a new home or rescue.  She tells us that things are the same.... when Sledge gets excited, he runs quickly and will run into things, and that he and one of their other dogs still do not get along.  She would love to find him a new home or rescue that give him more attention than she can.

Kallie - Adopted

Name: Kallie

Vet Info: Kallie is confirmed spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She received a 1-year rabies vaccine on 9/29/14. She is heartworm negative. Kallie has cataracts with about 20% retinal function. Because of the retinal damage, she is not a candidate for surgery. She has partial but very limited sight. Kallie weighed 62 pounds at the last vet visit. She is overweight but seems to be losing weight with daily walks. She was tested for diabetes and was negative.

Owner Info: DOB 7/23/2010. Kallie is a young Siberian Husky who was recently pulled from a high-kill shelter where she was an owner surrender. Her current caregiver is with the rescue and has 21 dogs at her house. Unfortunately, she doesn’t feel Kallie is safe in this environment. She was attacked by another dog when she ran into him. The rescue is now looking for a safe and loving home for sweet Kallie! They had an adopter lined up for her but the adoption fell through when they found out that she was not a candidate for surgery. Kallie is an indoor dog who is house-broken but is crated most of the time for her safety. She gets two walks a day and her care-giver reports she is mostly leash-trained but still pulls some because of her vision. She is good with people of all ages as well as male and female dogs. She has never shown aggression and has never bitten or snapped at anyone. Her caregiver says that Kallie is a complete love and seems depressed due to the crating to keep her safe. She writes, “Kallie is sweet and loving and deserves to be in a home where she can interact with a family and love and be loved. The other dogs in our home prevent this from happening.” She also says she would be willing to transport Kallie in the Southeast!

Delilah - Adopted

Vet Info: Delilah is not spayed. She is not up to date on vaccines and has not been recently heartworm tested. She weighs about 90 - 95 pounds.

Owner Info: Delilah is a very sweet and loving girl who is deaf and partially blind. Her owners have an invisible fence and they write that it no longer works to contain her. Currently they are tying her on a long run when she goes out, but she barks and strains the entire time. They are afraid to let her off the run for fear of her wandering off or getting hit. They have several children and she's already had some close calls. They would very much love her to be safe in a loving home where she can enjoy life to the fullest. Delilah was born at their home. Delilah is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained, and responds to visual and touch commands for sit, bed, outside, and come. She is good with people of all ages and both male and female dogs, and cats! She currently lives with two other dogs and two cats. She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any aggression.  Delilah is deaf, but is not completely blind. Her owners write, "Delilah had troubles from birth with excessive skin around her eyes causing her eyelashes to irritate her eyes. We did several stapling sessions to correct this issue, though it may need to be done again or possible further corrective surgeries. Also her third eyelid does not retract completely. She does have limited vision but not at a long distance." They also tell us she has a slight limp in a front leg due to an injury when she was small, but it's very minor and shouldn't cause any issues in the future. Other than that, she's a healthy girl! Her owners feel she adapts well to new situations and write, "She is very easy going and happy. We have taken her different places with us and she has always handled it well." They gave us more details about beautiful Delilah. "Delilah is a sweet baby. She has been raised in our home with our 8 children. She is used to being around kids of all ages and loves attention. She is accustomed to our cats, though they tend to avoid her. She walks well on a leash and knows she is only allowed on her furniture. She is all great dane personality, a big gentle giant who thinks she is a lap pup."

Lexi - In Foster Care

Vet Info:  Lexi is confirmed spayed and heartworm negative.  She is up to date on vaccines and is next due for her rabies vaccine in May, 2017.  She is next due for her DHLPP vaccine in July, 2015.  Lexi weighs 32 pounds.

Owner Info: DOB 5/17/07. Lexi is an adorable little girl whose parents have a toddler.  They write that Lexi sometimes causes their toddler to fall and they are afraid of the risk of harm to their child.  They are very much hoping for rescue or a new home for Lexi.  They tell us she is a great dog!  Lexi is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She knows "sit" and "shake!"  Lexi is a very friendly little girl and is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any aggression. Lexi's eyes "are open but she is completely blind".  Her owners also write that overall she is healthy and well-behaved!  

Mike - Adopted

Vet Info: Mike is confirmed neutered and up to date on vaccines.  He is next due for his rabies vaccine on 5/20/2015.  Mike is heartworm negative.  He weighs about 40 pounds.

Owner Info: Mike is a very handsome mixed breed who was pulled from Animal Control by a smaller rescue.  He is completely blind in one eye. His other eye seems fine.  He was in foster care for a while and his foster mom was working with him on commands to let him know that he was going to be touched on his blind side, and making great progress with him. But then she got orders (military) and he is back in the rescue's kennel, where he is very stressed and paces continually, even if he's just been exercised.  If unknowingly approached on his blind side, Mike will snap and try to ​bite, and once bit hard, so he needs a foster or adoptive home without children.  His rescue writes that he is a really sweet boy and wants so badly to please, but that he just has a disability that needs understanding.  They are very much hoping for a foster-based rescue with an experienced foster home who can help meet Mike's needs and who can help him blossom into the wonderful dog he tries so hard to be. Mike is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard and is not housebroken.  He is leashed trained.  His rescue writes that he is good with other dogs, but not cats. He does have a prey drive and is a more dominant temperament. They gave us more detail about how he is with other dogs:  "Mike has been great with all dogs, and he has been introduced to over a hundred since being here at rescue.  He is always the top dog though.  One larger dog (much larger than him) gave him the eye once and Mike put him in his place instantly.  The larger dog never messed with him again.  So if confronted, Mike will react.  But that is the only time he has had to and they never had a problem again.  He plays really well with the other dogs, but also does his own thing a lot in the play yard.  I think he is alone a lot because he is so consumed with pacing.  If we can get him to stop pacing the exercise yard, he will actually play.  He LOVES WATER.  He has a kiddie pool that he flops around in and it is so cute.  His foster mom actually moved away last night and came to say goodbye to him.  He jumped right up to be hugged immediately and you can tell he adores her.  I would say that he would do best with dogs that are bigger than him (at least not toy breed) just because he is more of the boss dog. He has been around a lot of small dogs too, but never in a home environment so I think if they ever got into a squabble, Mike could do some damage.  But I could be completely wrong too...I'm just overly cautious maybe.  I do hope someone is able to step up for him. He has so much potential if given the right chance." They also tell us that he's very loyal and will bond quickly!

Freddy - Adopted

Vet Info: Freddy is confirmed neutered and next due for a rabies vaccine on August 17, 2015.  He weighs about 35 pounds.  He is blind in one eye, and his owner writes that he sees well with his other eye. 

Owner Info: Freddy is a very handsome Boykin/Field Spaniel whose owner feels her home is no longer the proper place for him.  She now has a stepdaughter, and Freddy needs to be in a calm home with no children.  He is blind in one eye and will snap if anyone comes too close to his face.  Freddy has bitten three times and his bites have broken skin.  His owners believe his bites are due to fear or pain.  They believe Freddy will do well in a calm home with no children.  Freddy is an indoor dog with run of the house, he is housebroken, but not leash trained.  Freddy knows several commands, including Sit, Lay Down, Easy and Come!  Freddy is good with men and women and both male and female dogs (he lives with two other dogs now), but he needs a home with no children.  He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  Here is his owner's heartfelt plea:  "Freddy has fearful aggression I believe.  He injured his left eye many years ago and that eye is completely blind.  Since then has bitten three times.   the first time was because he was in pain from the injury.  The second time he was in a different environment and under stress and was startled.  This third time was because my boyfriend was not listening to his cue of growling when someone gets too close to his face or eye.  Freddy injured him and we feel he is not stable enough to be in our home where we have a child and her friends come over.   He is very sweet and loving and I cannot bear to take him somewhere that they will euthanize him because of the bites that were out of fear or pain.   He belongs in an adult only home with someone who understands that he can and will bite in situations related to fear and his eye.  He gets along very well with dogs of all sizes and is neutered as well as heartworm free and up to date on shots."

Willow - Adopted

Vet Info: Willow is not spayed.  She will be vetted shortly and they will update us once that happens.  Willow weighs about 40 to 50 pounds.

Owner Info: Willow is a beautiful girl in temporary foster care.  She was surrendered by her original owners to a small rescue.  We were contacted by an ACO we've worked with in the past and they are very much hoping we'll have a foster home for her!  Willow was born blind but they're unsure if she's fully blind in both eyes.  Other than that, they write she is healthy. Willow is an indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She is good with men and women and both male and female dogs.  They're not sure how she would be with cats.  Willow is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any aggression. Her contact writes that she adapts easily for being blind but she needs a foster or owner with more experience.  She can be a little shy at first but warms up very quickly to everyone!  

Riddick - In Foster Care

Vet Info: Riddick is not neutered and is not up-to-date on vaccines. He has not been heartworm tested. He has been blind since birth. He may see shadows but his caregiver is not sure. Riddick weighs 30+ pounds.

Owner Info: Riddick is a young lab/heeler mix who was recently rescued from a neglectful situation. His rescuer took in three dogs and was able to rehome two of them needs assistance finding a good home for Riddick. He is completely blind since birth. His current caregiver has had him for about two weeks. Riddick is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard; he is not house-broken. He is leash-trained. He knows commands, come, sit (if persistent with him), and will lay down when told. Riddick is an outgoing dog who is good with people of all ages as well and male and female dogs. He was food-aggressive with his caregiver’s other dog but this has gotten better. Riddick’s caregiver writes, “I believe he needs to realize that food will be available and he will get better.” He has not shown aggression to people or animals. He loves people but he may need to be watched around small children. His caregiver writes, “he's a pup with no discipline. He is a good dog, just lacks training.” Riddick is a smart dog who learned to maneuver around a table after bumping into it once. He also walked the perimeter of the fence and now runs around the yard as if he’s not blind!

Dallas - In BDRA Foster Care

Location: Huntington, WV area

Vet Info: Dallas is confirmed neutered and up to date on vaccines. His next rabies vaccine is due August, 2015. He has not had a recent heartworm test. Dallas weighs about 48 pounds.

Owner Info: DOB 4/16/2011. Dallas is a gorgeous fellow who has been with rescue shelter for more than three years. He's having one eye removed shortly and will be losing the other soon. They have over 100 dogs and want to give sweet Dallas the best chance for finding a new home or rescue! They have had Dallas ever since he was a puppy and his litter was brought to the rescue shelter.  His caregivers gave us more details about his eye issues: "Dallas produces no natural tears and has severe dry eye. He had parotid duct transplant of the right eye on 03/12/2013. He cannot see out of this eye at all now and is having it removed in two weeks. His left eye is getting worse, He has been given a lot of different meds in the eye but nothing has worked, He can open this eye but has times when he cannot. He is partially blind now but will end up loosing both eyes. He is very healthy other than that". Dallas is an indoor dog confined to one area, he is not housebroken but is leash trained. Dallas is good with people of all ages and both male and female dogs. He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any aggression. Dallas is a very friendly fellow! His rescue writes that "Dallas doesn't know a stranger and is a complete Ham. He loves to make people laugh. He has been to different hospitals and vets and never acts any different than his normal self." Dallas makes people smile all day long and they are sure he will bring joy to a family! "No one has never met him and not walked away smiling".

Jake - In Foster Care

Name: Jake

Breed: Cocker Spaniel

Location: Knoxville, TN area

Vet Info: Jake is confirmed heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines. His next rabies vaccine is due 10/16/2015. Jake has an enlarged eye due to glaucoma and a heart murmur. He weighs about 27 pounds.

Owner Info: Jake is a very handsome fellow who was living in an outdoor enclosure for the past two to three years and has had little to no care. He and the two other Cocker Spaniels there were saved by a wonderful organization who has also had them vetted. Jake has an enlarged eye due to glaucoma. This eye will be removed during his neuter, once he is strong enough for surgery. They believe he can only see light/dark out of his other eye. Because this organization's primary focus is on helping low income families spay and neuter their pets, they do not have a network to share him for adoption/rescue or a foster home knowledgeable about blind dogs available for Jake, and he is currently in boarding. He's been in boarding since October 10th. They are very much hoping we will have a foster home for him. Jake is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard and is not housebroken, but he is leash trained. A home without young children may be best for Jake. The other two Cocker Spaniels were female, and we asked if Jake was good with male dogs as well: "I didn't check the box about how he is with males as I truly do not know. Since he hasn't been neutered yet I would probably introduce other dogs carefully. I tend to be cautious though with my fur kids. He has been with his sister and the other female his entire life". They also note his former owner had a cat.  When answering the question about whether the dog has shown any aggression, they wrote, "The only time he has flinched from human contact was when we first took him to the groomer. His ears were badly infected and his eye was painful due to pressure from glaucoma. He was sedated for grooming so the vet could clean and medicate his ears. He has been fine since. I stated yes above only because we do not know if he is possessive of food or toys.​" They also want us to know that "Jake has had little to no care in the last 2-3 years. He and his pen mates have been severely neglected and we want to change that from here forward. Over the last month we have raised the funds needed for them to receive needed grooming and veterinary care. We need to find him a foster home willing to work with him and show him how great life can be inside a loving home". Jake is learning to play! They tell us that Jake "seems to be doing well at the vets in boarding. While he was in the shelter he was nervous but we think it was due to all the barking dogs and strange smells. He has been doing well walking on a leash and loves playing with squeeky toys!"

Sherlock - Staying With Owner

Name: Sherlock

Age: 15 years

Breed: Schnauzer Mix

Location: Eastern PA

Vet Info: Sherlock is up to date on rabies and is neutered. The vet office said that Sherlock has significant issues with allergies that affect his ears and eyes and caused repeated and longstanding infections. Sherlock has dry eye and nystagmus. Last winter, they noted a hind end nerve issue. There is no record of HW testing.

Owner Info: Sherlock's owner is moving to a senior living apartment and Sherlock is too large to go (weighs 40 pounds), and so he needs a new home. Sherlock's owner has had him since he was a puppy and he is now 15 years old. He has cataracts and is incontinent (no longer housetrained). He recently had an "incident that resembled a stroke." He does not hear well. He is leashtrained. When he sees other dogs, he barks and snaps. He has never been aggressive around people but gets very excited if young children are running around (he is fine if they are calm). His owner writes: "Other dogs (unfamiliar dogs) intimidate him or spur his need to protect." He is OK around dogs who are familiar to him, though; he grew up with cats and dogs. His owner writes: "Sherlock is a loving, comforting pet. He is so caring, hates to be alone, hates cages and, despite his infirmities, has a few good years to love someone if they will love him."

Update 11/9/2014: The OS Team just found a few minutes ago out Sherlock's owner is moving THIS WEDNESDAY!!! She might have a temporary arrangement for Sherlock, but she is not certain. Sherlock needs to be crossposted immediately, and he is in need of a foster home or adoptive home right away!!

Shadow - Staying With Owner

Name: Shadow

Vet Info: Shadow is not neutered. He is up to date on vaccines and is due for his next rabies vaccine on 2/14/2017. He is heartworm negative but was lyme positive and was on doxycycline. Shadow weighs about 10 pounds.

Owner Info: Shadow is an adorable little fellow whose home is being condemned. His owner is disabled and is moving in 1 1/2 weeks to an income-based apartment building that does not allow pets. She is heartbroken and is desperately hoping for rescue for sweet Shadow. She has tried for weeks to find a new apartment that she could afford that also accepts pets, but she could not. His owner writes, "Please help me find a home for our wonderful dog, Shadow. He deserves a good home and someone to love him for the rest of his life. I always thought I would be there for him and I am heartbroken that my situation is different and I would have him for the rest of his life." Shadow developed cataracts over time and his owner believes he is now almost completely blind. He is housebroken and leash trained. He knows his name and he knows "stay"! He also loves belly rubs, and will roll over on his back. He is good with men, women and teenagers, but because of his size, younger children may be too much for him. He is good with male and female dogs and cats. Shadow is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any aggression. His owner wants us to know that "he still likes to play ball because he can smell it out. He is a very sweet dog and loves his belly rubbed."

Dale - Staying With Owner

Name: Dale

Age: 6 1/2 years

Breed: Dachshund

Location: Washington DC

Vet Info: Dale is confirmed neutered and is up-to-date on vaccines. Next rabies is due 11/2015 and distemper is due 07/2017. He is heartworm negative. The vet’s office confirmed he is on medication for anxiety. Dale is blind due to SARDS – Sudden Acquired Retinal Disease – since June, 2011. He is otherwise in good health. Dale weighs 18 lbs.

Owner Info:Dale is a blind dachshund who is fear-aggressive and having trouble adjusting to the new baby in the house. His owners have tried training with a behaviorist but they are worried about a possible safety risk as their son gets older. Dale's family has had him since he was a puppy. Dale is an indoor dog who is crated; he is house-broken and leash-trained. He has had basic obedience training and knows commands, sit, stay, come, and careful (which is used for “slow down because you may run into something.”) He has also taken two reactive dog classes. Dale is good with men and women and male and female dogs. The family also has a female terrier mix and she and Dale generally get along well. Dale is not protective of toys, treats or food. However he is fear-aggressive and there was an incident last year when he got scared by a little girl and nipped at her foot. It did not break the skin and Dale's owner writes it happened “because the adults weren't paying close enough attention.” Dale also gets into fights with the family's female dog, Penny, and this Spring, Penny attacked Dale and in the ensuing fight Dale bit Penny on the elbow and it broke the skin. Because of these incidents, Dale's owner feels he would do best in a quieter environment without small children or other animals. Dale's owner writes, “Dale has his issues but he does adjust well. He has a wonderful personality that really endears him to people. People often have a hard time believing he is blind because he moves around so well and he's very trusting walking with others on a leash and even running.” She wants us to know that this is a heart-breaking decision for them but they want Dale to be happy and safe. She says they would be willing to take him back if a new home doesn't work out. They just don't want to see him put in a shelter or put down.

Owner Info: Stickers is an adorable little girl who was found in the country. She was so full of "stickers" she couldn't walk, and was very thin. The good samaritan who found her took her to the groomer and is caring for her as best she can, but her husband doesn't want to keep Stickers, and she works full time and isn't able to give Stickers the time or attention she needs. She is very much hoping for rescue for Stickers. She has had Stickers for two months. Her caregiver writes that Stickers is about 95% blind (from scratched corneas due to dry eye), but she can see light and shadows. Stickers is also deaf. Stickers is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, she is not housebroken or leash trained. Her caregiver writes that she sleeps most of the day and will follow you if you walk in front of her. Stickers is a kind and gentle girl, and is good with people of all ages, both male and female dogs, and cats. She currently lives with two other dogs and two cats and she is very cat friendly. She is not possessive of toys, treats or food and has never shown any aggression. They also note she never barks.

Owner Info: From Delilah's owner: "I lost my jobs months back and have had no luck finding new employment yet and now I am being evicted from my home and have to move out this Saturday. I am unable to take either of my pups with me where i will be staying for now and i have already found a temporary home for my puppy. and my family is uanble to temporarily home them either. My sister is at the limit with her landlord and my mother cannot have another dog where she is renting. We have reached out on Facebook as well as my sister's coworkers, etc. and we are now in urgent need of placing Delilah, as she is blind and we know if she is forced to take her to a shelter she will be euthanized due to her disability.

Delilah is a 2 ½ year old female lab/pit mix, born April 2012, weighs roughly 55/60 lbs. She was born with sunk in blind eyes. She has been raised with my eleven year old and two year old daughters. She is crate trained and well behaved. (No known bad habits, as chewing on stuff etc. as she is never left unattended when loose inside and has never had any potty accidents. When they are not home she is crated. She is extremely loving and is awesome with the kids.) She has never shown any aggressive behavior even with my daughter’s friends being over for the first time and not knowing who they are. She warms up instantly to new people. She has never had any health issues, but is not current on her shots. We are in search of a happy home that can give her the care and love that she needs with her disability and to keep her from being euthanized. I would love to be able to take Delilah back once I am able to get on my feet and back in my own home if someone is at least willing to take her only temporarily, or as sad as it is for me I am also willing to give her up permanently if that is what needs to happen under the circumsstances I am grasping for options to keep us from having to take her to a shellter and her automatically be euthanized due to her disability with her blindness.
