Sampson-Returned to Washington County Animal Shelter

Name: Sampson
Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Setter/Border Collie
Age: 5-7 years (estimated)
Location: Johnson City, TN

Vet/Medical Info: Sampson has never actually been to the vet we were given details for, but they do have records that were forwarded from a previous vet. Sampson is neutered and is due for rabies and distemper on 7/10/2012, so he's UTD on those vaccines. They have no other record of any other vaccines and no record of heartworm testing. They had no other relevant medical info.
Owner Info: Sampson's owner got him from the Washington County Animal Shelter, he does not want to take him back there. Sampson is more stubborn and set in his ways than his owner anticipated. He does not have the time to put into training him. Sampson also needs a yard he can run around in, another area he was ill-informed on. He has let his friends and family know that he has a dog to find a home for, he has also told the property manager of the apartments where he lives. She has posted a picture and told her friends, family, and some residents who may know someone who would like to take him. Sampson is blind in his right eye, the vet said it was from trauma. It is fine, however if it starts to ooze or become a problem removal would need to be discussed. Sampson is an indoor dog with the run of the house however he is not housebroken. He is leash trained, good with people of all ages and other dogs. Sampson is microchipped. His owner wonders if Sampson has some kind of mental disability, this may not be the case though. He is a sweet and lovable dog, his owner just cannot give him the time or yard he needs nor can he afford to fix anymore damage he does to the apartment. He really hates to see him go, but just cannot keep him.
