Mandy - At Shelter

Name: Mandy
Age: 10 years
Sex: Female (spayed according to owner, not confirmed)
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Location: Oklahoma

Vet Info: Current owner said that Mandy has not been to a vet, and the current owner cannot afford to take her.

Owner Info: In late March of 2013, Mandy's owner left Mandy with her daughter-in-law and is not going to be returning to pick her up. The daughter-in-law, who is now the current owner, said that Mandy has never been to a vet. She is 10 years old and weighs 37 pounds. The current owner says that she is spayed but there is no vet confirmation of the spay. Mandy is not up to date on her shots. She is blind in her right eye; it is bulging and foggy-looking, and it appears that the left eye is clouding up. Mandy is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is housebroken and leashtrained. She understands "sit" and "lay down." She is an "extremely nervous dog" and has snapped at family members. The current owner described the two snapping situations: "She was in our trash, and I told her to get out of it, and she snapped at me. The second time I went to get her outside. Again, she snapped, and her tooth scratched my skin." She also has started to growl at her new family. The current owner said Mandy is "VERY food aggressive." She is not good around children of any age and may not be good around other animals (she is not sure since Mandy is so food aggressive). The current owner has four children, including one with autism, and is a scared about this situation with Mandy, and so wants Mandy to find a new home.
