Zero - In Memory

Name: Zero
Age: 6-8 years
Breed: Poodle
Sex: Female (not altered)
Location: Laredo, TX

Vet Info: Zero is not spayed or up to date on vaccines.  Her owner writes that she is heartworm negative, but this has not been confirmed.  Zero weighs about 5 pounds.  Her owner writes that she is completely blind and partially deaf.

Owner Info: Zero is an adorable little girl who was saved by a college student from a shelter on the day she was to be euthanized (Zero was found as a stray).  Her owner is moving in August and cannot keep Zero, but wanted to save her life and help her find a new home.  She has had Zero for two weeks.

Zero is an indoor dog with run of the house.  She is housebroken but not leash trained.  Zero is described as shy, but is a friendly little girl and good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  She currently lives with two female dogs and one female cat.  Zero is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped.

Zero was in horrible condition when she was saved from the shelter (a "before" photo is attached).  Her owner gave us more information about Zero's blindness: "When I first brought her home, her hair was matted so badly she could barely open her mouth and eyes due to the knots covering it. I am assuming old age is the cause, if not just the matted hair covering her eyes could have caused her to lose eyesight due to only seeing darkness for however long she was in that condition."

Zero's owner is desperately hoping we can help.  She writes, "I rescued her from a shelter the day she was going to be put down. She was in bad shape and I have helped her regain her health. I wish to see her have a forever home because unfortunately I cannot care for her."
