Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Great Pyrenees
Age: 1 year
Location: Telford, PA

Vet/Medical Info:  Psalms is microchipped.  Rabies 1 yr due 01/2013.  Initial distemper and bordetella were given by vet and subsequent boosters were given by owner.  Neuter was done 01/12/2012.

Owner Info:  Psalms is a 1 year old who is not getting along with his two male housemates.  Psalms has never shown any aggression to anyone other than the two male housemates.  He was seen by a vet/behaviorist who feels Psalms will always want to “covet” his people and does not want to share them with others.  He’s in an indoor dog with run of the house and he is housebroken.  He is not leash trained.  He gets along well with adults and children of all ages.  Psalms was born with underdeveloped eyes. He is totally blind.  He was evaluated by Dr. Jerome Glickstein.  He underwent surgery to correct entropion in both eyes, as well as to complete bilateral nictitans trimmings.  This did not result in any eyesight.  Psalms remains completely blind; however, the upper and lower lid entropion surgery was a success. According to his owner, “Psalms is so happy and loving ONCE HE IS IN THE NEW SITUATION.  Getting him there is hard because he is fearful of the unknown.  He travels very well in the car ONCE he is in the car.  He loves the vet’s office and tries to associate with the other animals and people, wagging his tail.  He loves new people and dogs.....he just cannot live with other males.” She also states, “Psalms is hearty and healthy.  He is happy and silly.  He is very well behaved in the house.  He is hesitant to get into the car, but happy once he is in there.  He is a great big sweetheart!  Also, his lack of eyesight does not stop him from getting around or playing.  He makes a mental "map" of his surroundings.
