Tarzan - In Labs and Friends Foster Care, San Diego

Name: Tarzan
Sex: Male (not altered)
Age: 6 or 7 years
Breed: Yellow Labrador
Location: Central California

Vet Info: No vet. Owner picked him up as a stray and cannot afford to take him to a vet.

Owner Info: Tarzan, a yellow lab, was found on the streets with a body score of 2, per his current owner (he was covered with fleas, had an eye infection and was half starved). The current owner was able to get into contact with the former owner who no longer wanted Tarzan. Tarzan is completely blind and weighs about 90 pounds. He is 6 or 7 years old. Right now is he is an outdoor dog. He is good with people, including young children, and good with dogs and cats. He was previously a trained hunting dog, and knows the following commands: sit and down. The current owner would like to keep him but she is now unemployed and cannot afford him. He is not neutered but she says he is up to date with his shots and currently heartworm negative. The owner wrote: He is a gentle giant that is blind. His hearing is just fine, and so is his nose with food. He takes treats from the hand softly. He gets really excited with my son. He barks and his tail wags as he jumps up and down. He is an awesome dog!
