Simon - Outcome Unknown

Name: Simon
Age: Unknown
Sex: Male (not altered)
Breed: Cocker Spaniel/Poodle Mix
Location: Dallas, TX

Vet Info: Simon is not neutered and has not been vetted.  His good samaritan writes, "He is considerably old; teeth are ok but desperately need to be cleaned. He has a skin irritation on his left cheek that has healed; waiting for the scab to fall off. Has skin tags but nothing that seems to impair mobility or need immediate removal. Excellent temperament. He does not bark but does whine when he needs to use the restroom. Urinates frequently (every 2 hours) and noticeable volume. For the most part, he is house broken. Very confident when he walks even though sight is impaired...I believe the dog is completely blind in both eyes. His right is slightly larger than his left eye and seems to have a film over it. Both eyes are white but the right eye seems to be more noticeable."

Owner Info: Simon is about 30 lbs and is a stray that the good samaritan brought in. They cannot keep him due to pet restrictions at the apartment complex and also because the other dog in the house does not get along with Simon. He appears to be both blind and deaf. He has a good disposition and according to the good samaritan, he adjusts well. He responds to touch for redirection. "He initially stayed in the garage because he had been treated for fleas. He learned the layout of the garage quickly. Once the fleas died, he was moved into the house in a 10X10 room. He navigates the room very well and has learned the route to get from his room to the patio door to go outside for pottie breaks."

Simon's good samaritan wants us to know what a special and loving boy he is!  He does well with people of all ages and will make someone a wonderful cuddle partner!   She writes, "Incredibly smart dog. Very lovable and friendly. Thinks he is a big baby because he will crawl in your lap to be held".
