Chevy - In Foster Care

Name: Chevy
Age: 10 years
Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Labrador
Location: Near San Antonio, TX

Vet Info: Chevy had a one year rabies and distemper in June of 2012.  He is neutered.

Owner Info: The family has to unexpectedly move out of state and is unable to take Chevy with them. He is 80 pounds and is an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is housebroken and leash-trained.  He knows a couple commands (sit, lay down) and can be guided by the owner clicking her fingers.  He is an outgoing dog who is good with people of all ages, dogs, and cats.  Once a strange dog rushed up to him, growling and lunging, and Chevy snapped at the dog but did not bite.  Otherwise, he has never shown any aggression to a person or animal.  The owner said he did not receive proper nutrition as a puppy so is blind ("cauliflower blindness").  The owner wrote: "He is absolutely great with small children. We got him by helping his previous owners when they lost their home and could not keep him. He adapted to us immediately and we fell in love with him. The ONLY reason we cannot keep him is because of our situation and the need to move without the means to take him and the concern of the long trip and his age. He is very calm."
