Vet Info: Willem's vetting is not yet confirmed, but his owner writes he's up to date on vaccines.  He has not been recently heartworm tested and is not yet neutered, but is scheduled to be neutered on October 18th.  Willem weighs about 68 pounds.  His owner writes that he has Microopthalmia.

Owner Info: Willem's owner is moving and she needs to find him a home or rescue as soon as possible.  She is not able to take him with her.  His owner's daughter writes that she just found out their timetable has been moved up, and they have until the morning of the 23rd to find him a home or rescue.  Willem was saved when he was a puppy as his previous owners were going to drown him for being blind!  Willem is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard and is not housebroken, but is leash trained.  Willem knows several commands including Follow Me, Come Here, Nicely, Down, and Don't Jump!  He's good with adults and teenagers and both male and female dogs.  Willem can be possessive with toys, treats, or food and his owner says he doesn't like other dogs around when he eats, but " he does fine if you separate him from other dogs at feeding time".  She also writes, " He warms up to people and other animals, it just takes him a little while."  Willem's owner says that Willem "is very sweet, loving and loyal. He will follow you around the yard if you like to garden. He can learn if you are patient with him, but he does get very excited. He is very protective of his people and territory and will bark at new/strange things. On walks he will lean against your legs to know he is with you. He loves bath time, and playing in a shallow baby pool. He likes squeaky toys, but otherwise doesn't know what to do with most toys".
