Ray - Adopted

Name: Ray
Sex: Male (not altered)
Breed: Mixed Breed
Age: 10-12 weeks
Location: Daingerfield, TX

Vet/Medical Info: Ray received the first round of HPPVC 10/20 and the second 11/10. He has an appointment on 12/1 for his final puppy vaccination. Too young for HW test, rabies shot or neutering.

Owner Info: Ray was taken in by a caring lady as a stray puppy a few weeks ago, he was estimated to be 4-6 weeks old at the time. He was one in a litter of 11 that her daughter discovered and had fed for a couple of weeks. She has found homes for all of the puppies except for this little blind one. They love him already but cannot keep him. Her husband's job requires travel and she usually travels with him so is away from home for long periods of time several times a year, sometimes out of the country. She took the puppy in hopes of finding someone out there, who will love him and give him a good home, with the time and attention he needs. He is playful and happy. He seems to be learning very quickly how to get around. He has already had his first two puppy shots and has an appointment at vet for the third one. It breaks her heart that she can't keep him permanently, she is willing to keep him and care for him temporarily until a good home can be found. If he doesn't find a home he will have to go to a shelter. He is mostly white with some multi-color brown/tan splotches. She can only hope that we will help her help this little guy, she doesn't know where to begin. He seems to be a very happy normal puppy, other than the fact that he can't see. He seems to be adjusting and learning very fast. She would love for him to be able to learn and adjust to his new home more sooner than later. She is willing to travel to deliver him to his new home. He has been wormed and was given a flea/heartworm/ear mite preventative. He doesn't have big feet so she would guess he might be a small-medium size dog. Ray weighed 5.2lbs when he got his first vaccination on October 20 and as of November 15 he is 10 pounds and turning into a very handsome little boy. He walks good on a leash now with a harness.  He is a spoiled rotten house dog, he sleeps in the bed with their daughter.  He is housebroken, they have been able to leave the door open for him most of the time and he goes out and comes in as he pleases.  He has free run of the house and knows his way around the house and yard.  He gets along well with other dogs.  He is all puppy and likes chewing! Ray does appear to be able to see light and dark.  If there is light shining on him he can see the shadow of someone who walks in between him and the light source.  Also, if he is in a dark room and a light is turned on he instantly looks up toward the light.
