Sadie - In BDRA Foster Care

Name: Sadie
Age: 9 years
Sex: Female (altered)
Breed: Schnauzer
Location: Jacksonville, FL area

Vet Info: Sadie is confirmed spayed.  Her owners write that she is not up to date on vaccines.  Sadie tested negative for heartworm in 2010.  She weighs about 13 pounds.

Owner Info: Sadie is a beautiful and very sweet schnauzer whose owners have to move in with friends as the house where they are living is being sold.  They are desperately hoping for rescue for sweet Sadie!  They have tried other rescues, putting up flyers at local vet clinics, and friends and family, but have not had any success.  They have had Sadie for four years and got her from an ad. Sadie has retinal atrophy but may be able to make out things in very bright light. Her owners write that other than that, she is in good health.  She is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  Sadie's a smart girl, and knows, Sit, Shake, Roll Over, and Heel!  For the question about whether your dog adapts well to new situations, her owners write, "Yes, she does what I call the "perimeter check" in my fenced yard almost every time she goes outside. If the furniture gets moved, she does the same thing. She is curious. I've been teaching her the word, "Stop" when I see her about to run into something. She usually listens & stops & changes direction. She is sweet & loving dog."  Sadie is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never bitten or snapped.    Her owners want us to know that they are heartbroken.  They "pray that you guys can accept her & find her a good home. All I want is for her to be happy. She is a sweet, loving, smart dog."
