Daisy - Adopted

Name: Daisy
Breed: Bichon
Age: 13 ½ years
Sex: Female (altered)
Location: Toms River, NJ

Vet Info: Daisy is confirmed spayed.  She is not current with vaccines.  Her owner's daughter writes that she is heartworm negative, but this has not yet been confirmed.  We are told that Daisy has cataracts and appears completely blind, but otherwise, her owner's daughter writes that she is in good health.  Daisy weighs about 10 pounds.

Owner Info: DOB 12/2002. Daisy is an adorable and sweet Bichon whose owner is elderly and has serious health issues.  His wife passed away less than a year ago.  His daughter is reaching out for help for Daisy as her father is unable to care for her.  Daisy was originally purchased from a pet store that's no longer in business.

Daisy is in indoor dog with run of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  Daisy is described as nervous, and is good with both men and women.  We asked Daisy's owner's daughter how Daisy is with other dogs, and she told us that Daisy lived with her mom and dad her whole life, with no other pets.  "Daisy lived her whole life with my mom and dad and there were no other animals...in younger days they would visit my sister's beach house and bring Daisy and my sister had a lab..things seemed fine but again in recent years she was really just in their home".

Daisy is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  She did snap at a stranger one time, and her owner's daughter gave us more details:  "The neighbor had gone to the house to take her out and when she bent down to pick her up she snapped at her...since she is blind she could have been afraid..not sure."

Daisy's owner's daughter is very much hoping we can help Daisy!  "A good home that will pay attention to her would be appreciated...she was my moms baby and i am sure she misses her."
