Peyton

Name: Peyton
Age: Approximately 3 1/2 years
Sex: Male (altered)
Breed: Labrador Mix
Location: Myrtle Beach, SC area

Vet Info: Peyton is confirmed neutered and up to date on vaccines.  He tested negative on his last heartworm test on 9/22/14.  He's been diagnosed with glaucoma and retinal detachment, and had his left eye removed in June, 2014.   Peyton's owner believes he can see shadows.  Peyton weighs 100 pounds.

Owner Info: Peyton is a very handsome and sweet fellow in need of rescue or a new home as he is too large for his owner to handle.  His owner writes, "Peyton has just become too hard to handle at times. I am 62 years old and i work....Peyton is very large and he runs into me, almost knocking me over."  She has tried posting flyers and contacting shelters, but has had no luck, and is very much hoping we can help.  Peyton was originally adopted from the humane society three years ago.

Peyton is an indoor dog with run of the house.  He is housebroken and leash trained.  He knows the commands, Sit and Come!  Peyton is a very sweet and friendly fellow, and is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never bitten or snapped.

When answering the question about whether your dog adapts well to new situations, Peyton's owner writes, "It takes time for him to get comfortable in new places."

Other than his eye condition, Peyton's owner tells us he's been a very healthy dog!  She also wants us to know what a sweetheart he is.  "Peyton is a very loving sweet dog. This is the hardest thing we've had to do. He just needs alot of time and patience."
