Age: Approximately 2 ½ years

Breed: Mix Breed (possibly Pit Bull?)

Location: Eastern Michigan

Vet Info: RC is confirmed neutered and is current with vaccinations. He is underwent heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative. He was due to be retested on September 29. He was also treated for intestinal worms (roundworms and hookworms). RC weighs 63 pounds. He will be having an eye exam with a specialist on October 11 but his caregivers believe he is mostly bind but probably sees shadows. He walks into doors and walls with no eye blink present.

Owner Info: RC is a young mixed breed who is being given a second chance after being found as a stray and taken in by a veterinary office. His caregivers say he was brought in after being attacked by multiple dogs on the street. They have had him for a few months now but he needs a foster home or a home of his own where is is not crated all the time.

RC is house-broken and leash-trained. He is outgoing and good with men, women, and teenagers. RC is not possessive of toys, treats, or food; however he can be reactive when he hears other dogs around him. His caregiver says he gets walked outside daily by a volunteer and is great on the harness. He is not startled by loud noises or when a stranger approaches. But if he hears another dog barking, he will bark and lunge even though he doesn't know what he is lunging at! His caregiver writes, “he has never bitten anyone or any animal while in our care.”

This poor guy has spent enough time in a crate! His caregivers are eager to get him acclimated to a home environment. He needs someone to work with him one-on-one.
