Jazzy - Adopted

Name: Jazzy
Age: 3 years
Breed: Doxie Mix
Sex: Female (unknown if altered)
Location: Columbus, OH area

Vet Info: It is unknown if Jazzy is spayed.  She is not yet up to date on vaccines or heartworm tested.  Jazzy weighs about 13 pounds.  Her rescue writes that Jazzy is fully blind.

Owner Info: Jazzy and several other pets were rescued from deplorable living conditions after their owner moved.  Jazzy was taken in by a smaller rescue who is hoping to place her with a rescue who is more experienced with blind dogs and better equipped to meet her needs.  They have had her only a few days. Jazzy is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, she is housebroken and leash trained.  She is good with other dogs and cats, and good with her foster mom and dad, but she hasn't yet met many other people.  Jazzy is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never shown any aggression.  Her rescue writes, "Jazzy is in a home with many other foster animals. She is friendly with all of them but is confined to a large playpen due to her blindness. She is taken our on a regular schedule to walk in the grass.... Jazzy was a bit scared when she came to her foster home b/c of all of the other dogs/cats, but she has adapted very well & seems to really like to be around people and other dogs." Jazzy also has been frightened when she is alone, and they gave us more details:  "She panics when she is alone. She did not do well in a crate & can be destructive (out of separation anxiety) when left alone (no other dogs or people with her). Poor baby girl!  ... Jazzy needs a patient home where she has time to learn the new sights, sounds and environment." With time and patience, Jazzy will blossom!
