Max - Adopted

Name: Max
Age: Approximately 1 year
Breed: Yellow Labrador
Sex: Male (confirmed altered)
Location: Todd County, MN

Vet Info: Max had a rabies injection in June 2015 and is confirmed neutered.  He has not had a recent heartworm test.  Max weighs about 80 pounds.

Owner Info: Max is an adorable young fellow who was saved about six months ago.  His owner writes, "We have 2 other dogs in our home and they all got along fine for quite awhile, now we don't know why but Max and our small older dog don't get along and have become aggressive with each other. Max is about 80 pounds and our small dog is about 18 so when this happens Max hurts the other dog. He gets along great with our other dog and cats. We love Max and wish we could keep him but we have tried everything we know to try. At this point we have to keep them separated which is becoming very difficult and unfair to the dogs as they don't get the attention that they deserve."  They are very much hoping for rescue as soon as possible for Max. Max was originally rescued while they were on vacation in Texas.  His original owners were going to shoot him, possibly because Max was born blind.  Max's current owners say it seems he can see shadows when it's very light out. Max is an indoor and outdoor dog with a fenced yard, he is housebroken but not leash trained.  He is described as outgoing, and good with people of all ages.  Max is good with most dogs and cats, and currently lives with two male dogs and three cats.  Max is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, but he and the smaller male dog do not get along, as described above. His owners tell us that Max loves people and he is very sweet!  He's a smart fellow, too, and knows the commands, Sit, Potty, and Kisses.  And they write that Max does well in new situations.  "It is rather impressive how well he gets around!"
