owner writes that Peyton is current with vaccinations and has given
more details about her eye issues: "she was born with a
recessive genetic disease there is no dna test for called optic nerve
hypoplasia. Her sire and dam were unknowingly carriers. Her parents have had
all their other testing and have eye exams every year. Peyton has also had eye
tests and photos of her optic nerves and diagnosed completely blind with the
possibility of visual slight shadows although I consider her totally
blind." Peyton is not yet spayed. Currently, she weighs
about 8 pounds.
Owner Info: Peyton is a
beautiful little girl who was born with optic nerve hypoplasia. Her
owner/breeder is looking for a loving home for her, where Peyton will not be
one of many dogs.
Peyton is an indoor dog with run of
the house, she is not yet housebroken, but is leash trained. She is not crated
or caged, but does have access from the house to the yard. Peyton is a
smart little girl and already knows her name and "come!" Peyton
is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats. She is
not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never shown any
aggression. Peyton's owner writes that she is a very healthy and vibrant
pup and she adapts very fast.
"Peyton is amazing at
navigating around the house and yard without bumping into ANYTHING! Maybe
she can see just a bit but I think she has just heightened smell and hearing
skills as if something (food) drops she will be the 1st to find it. LOL"
