Vet Info: Glacie is up to date on her rabies
and distemper (due again in September of 2015). Her last heartworm test was in
2009. She is spayed. The vet believes that Glacie's blindness is caused by
pannus. Overall, except for her vision, she is in good health and the vet said
that Glacie's owner has "taken good care of her."
Owner Info: Glacie is a beautiful 98 pound Akita. Her owner wrote: "I am a recently separated single mother of two young children with no help. I have taken Glacie to the vet to find she has pannus. I cannot afford her medication and don't have the time for her as I work full-time and then take care of my children." Glacie is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is housebroken and leash-trained. She graduated from a Petsmart dog training class. She is a little nervous but is good with people of all ages and also good with dogs, cats and other small animals. Glacie currently lives with two cats, a shih tzu, and a rabbit. While Glacie is not possessive of her food or toys, she may growl at small children when she does not want to be hugged - but she has never bitten or even snapped.
