Sweet Boy - Adopted

Name: Sweet Boy
Sex: Male (altered per caregiver, not confirmed)
Breed: Heeler Mix
Age: Unknown, possibly puppy
Location: Dallas, TX

Vet Info: Unknown.  Sweet Boy weighs about 10 - 15 pounds.

Owner Info: Sweet Boy was found today in a gutter behind his caregiver's house.  His collar was wrapped around a piece of re-bar and he was unable to move. His caregiver already has a full house of dogs and cannot keep him.  The local vet said he does not have a microchip.  Sweet Boy is an indoor dog confined to one room.  He appears housebroken and is not leash trained.  He responds well to snapping, and will follow his caregiver when she snaps.  He appears somewhat nervous and shy.  She does not know him very well yet, but he has shown no possessiveness with toys, treats or food.  He barked through the fence at her dogs when they all started barking at him but it wasn't aggressive in her opinion (she has five dogs and three cats).  And so far, he has done well with everyone around him including her 3 year old son, although they had a very controlled interaction.  She says that he seems to be doing very well adapting to her home, he sniffs around and tries to keep to the same paths so he doesn't run into things.  One eye appears to be infected and is completely fogged over with white, the other eye may have some limited eye sight but is still extremely foggy so he may not have any sight through that eye either.  She adds that he seems to be fairly healthy; his ears are extremely clean, his teeth aren't spotless but there didn't seem to be any infections and his gums are a healthy color. His nails are not over grown although they could use a trim, he has eaten food and water without any problems and she hasn't noticed any worrisome behavior.
