Lenny - Adopted

Name: Lenny
Age: 7 years
Breed: Dachshund
Sex: Male (altered)
Location: Tampa, FL area

Vet Info: Lenny is confirmed neutered.  He received a one-year rabies vaccine on 12/16/13, so he is due for a rabies vaccine.  Also on 12/16/13, he was heartworm negative.  Lenny weighs 20 pounds.  Lenny will be going to the ophthalmologist shortly and his owners will send an update after his appointment.

Owner Info: Lenny is an adorable little boy whose owners feel he would do better in another home.  They have had Lenny for three years.  They don't want to rehome Lenny and are broken-hearted, but he's aggressive towards their male dog who's been in their house for many years.  They've tried many things and don't believe there is a medical cause. Lenny is an indoor dog who is crated, he is housebroken and leash trained.  Lenny appears completely blind due to cataracts, but his owners will have more information after he sees the ophthalmologist.  He knows his name and can follow the sound of snapping and voice commands, and his owners feel he adapts well to new situations.  Lenny is good with both men and women, but a home without small children is recommended.  He is good with female dogs and cats, and he likes to follow the female dog in the house!  Lenny is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  His owner gave us more details about how he is with the male dog in the home:  "Lenny has bit the other dog in the house but when you raise your voice he stops. He also bit at me once but it was because the other dog was in the area. He does not like male dogs!" His owners also want us to know that he's very sweet!!  "Lenny is a very sweet dog despite his aggression towards the male dog in the house. He has a routine and follows it."
