Name: Bailey
Age: Approximately 5 years
Sex: Female (altered)
Breed: Chesapeake Bay / Golden Retriever Mix
Location: New Iberia, LA

Vet Info: Bailey is confirmed spayed and up to date on vaccines.  She is heartworm and fecal negative, and is next due for a heartworm and fecal test in April, 2016.  Bailey weighs about 78 pounds.  Bailey's owner writes that as of December, 2015, Bailey has become completely blind in both eyes due to congenital glaucoma (she had sight in one eye previously), but other than that, she has no health issues.

Owner Info: Bailey is a gorgeous and sweet girl whose owner's husband (and Bailey's main caretaker) died unexpectedly a few weeks ago.  His wife travels a lot for work and has no one to care for Bailey.  She is desperately hoping for rescue or a new home for Bailey.  She writes, "Her current home is an unsafe environment due to an in ground swimming pool, her main caregiver died on 12/4/15 and I travel for work and have no one to provide care to Bailey."

Bailey is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, she is not housebroken, but is leash trained.  Bailey knows the commands Sit and Come.  She is described as outgoing, and is good with people of all ages and both male and female dogs, and currently lives with two small dogs.  Her owner writes, "Bailey is good with both male and female dogs. My husband often kept other dogs while friends were on vacation. Bailey has never had any problems with any of the dogs. She is good with everyone and everything - she is a very sweet dog."

Bailey is not possessive of toys, treats or food, and has never shown any aggression.  She has never bitten or snapped.

Bailey's owner wants us to know she's a very sweet and loving girl who loves to go on walks!  "She is a loving, sweet animal that needs a safe environment and someone who will take her on her much loved daily walks."
