Camila - Outcome Unknown

Name:     Camila
Age:      3 years
Breed:    Dogo Argentino
Sex:       Female (altered per rescuer, not confirmed)
Location: Mexico City area, Mexico

Vet Info:  Camila is spayed and up to date on vaccines per her rescuer, but this has not been confirmed.  She weighs approximately 100 pounds.  Her rescuer tells us she was born with glaucoma in one eye, and the other eye is healthy.  Other than glaucoma, her rescuer tells us she is a healthy dog.

Owner Info:  Camila is a beautiful Dogo Argentino located in Mexico.  Her owners divorced, and asked an independent rescuer to help them find her a new home.  No home was found for three months, and the independent rescuer then took guardianship of Camila as her owners would have had her euthanized.  She writes, "Camila is a noble, caring and young dog that doesn't deserve to die.  She's a living soul that should be valued and given the opportunity of finding the right family that will give her love and care."  Camila may not have much of a chance of adoption in Mexico, and her rescuer is now desperately hoping to find rescue/adoption for Camila in the US or Canada!  Transport has not been discussed.

Camila is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard, she is housebroken but not leash trained.  She is good with men, women, and children, and is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  Camila is a smart girl with lots of energy and lots of love!  Her rescuer gave us more details about Camila and her needs:  "Camila hasn’t received any training and needs discipline. She’s super intelligent, understanding and has nervous energy because she needs physical exercise.  I don’t take her out of the garden area....Camila needs the proper introduction to gradually know a dog or she will bite out of fear.  She isn’t aggressive she does it out of fear.  She’ll bite and let go. When Camila feels insecure, fear, strange odors or loud noises that are unknown she’ll bite.  She reacts out of fear but with love and discipline she would be a normal dog....Camila is a dog that adapts well to people, new places and spaces.  She’s smart and require much love and room and demands lots of hugs, kisses and play. "

Camila's rescuer is very much hoping we can help find Camila a happy home!  "What I desire the most is a happy home for Camila.  She deserves a good home and I haven’t been able to find her a family in Mexico that wants her.  I can’t keep her as I don’t have the space as an independent rescuer."
