Lyla - In BDRA Foster Care

Name:   Lyla
Age:      9 years
Breed:   Dachshund
Sex:      Female (altered)
Location:  Austin, TX

Vet Info:  Lyla is spayed and up to date on vaccines.  She is heartworm negative.  Her clinic writes that she is completely blind.  Lyla weighs about 19 pounds.

Owner Info:  Lyla is an adorable little girl who was rescued by a vet clinic because her owner fell down the stairs and is in the hospital.  They write, "Hello! We have rescued a 9 year old blind dachshund, a very sweet and loving girl who adapts very quickly to her surroundings....."

Lyla is an indoor dog, she is housebroken and leash trained.  Even though she's new to the clinic, they tell us she's very interested in walking around and loves the cats!  They're trying to teach her "go to bed", "sit" and "stay".

Lyla is a very sweet little girl, and is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats.  She's not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and they have never seen any aggression.  Lyla loves to eat..."And she LOVES food and treats!! very food motivated!"  They tell us she's doing wonderfully there... very friendly and doesn't bark... she's a happy, loving dog who's very kind around the other dogs and cats!

Lyla's previous owner fell down the stairs and is now in the hospital.  He may have had Lyla in his arms when he fell, and she is currently on Tramadol and Metacam for a painful right rear leg.

Lyla's clinic is hoping we'll have a place for sweet Lyla.  "We would be thrilled for yall to take miss Lyla, she really is such a sweet girl that deserves the world! She will fit into a family so fast, and would be a wonderful companion."
