Danny - Staying With Owner

Name:     Danny

Sex:         Male (altered per neighbor, not confirmed)
Location:  Tehran, Iran

​Vet Info:    Danny is neutered and up to date on vaccines per his neighbor.  He has not had a heartworm test.  His neighbor writes that he needs drops twice daily because "he has bilateral glaucoma. One of his eyes is completely blind and the other has impaired vision (has undergone a surgery)...He gets pain in the eyes when his eye pressure rises (for example when not using the drop). His a healthy dog otherwise and has no other illnesses."  Danny weighs about 53 pounds.

Owner Info:  Danny is currently living in Iran, and his owners are not able to care for him.  They have had Danny since he was a puppy (2 months old).  A very kind neighbor is trying her best to find Danny rescue in the US or Canada, and has reached out to us.  She writes that they've had no luck in finding him shelter/rescue/a new home in Iran, and diagnostic and treatment resources are very limited.  They are desperately hoping we will have a place for Danny.  

Danny is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, he is housebroken and leash trained.  He knows basic commands such as, sit, come, and stay.  He is good with people of all ages and male and female dogs, but doesn't like cats, and will chase them.  

Danny is not possessive of toys, treats, or food.  He does require eye drops twice a day, and his neighbor writes that he can get a bit agitated for his drops.  "He gets a little agitated when he gets his drops (probably because of the local irritation as a side effect). Once he has bitten his owners brother's hand trying to force the drop in his eye, but there was no laceration as far as I know."  

Update 1/21/16: We've received an email from a different individual also reaching out on this fellow's behalf, and his name is Danny!  Here is more information from the other individual:

Hello! I am writing to let u know of this gorgeous dog who has recently gone blind due to glaucoma. His name is Danny and he is 3.5 years old. Great with other dogs and kids but not so much with cats. Danny lives in Iran...  He needs to take eye drops twice a day due to his glaucoma. I am in contact with a girl in Iran who is desperately trying to get Danny out of the situation he's in....
