Charley - Adopted

Name: Charley
Sex: Male (not altered)
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: 1 ½ - 2 years
Location: Oxford Station, ON

Vet/Medical Info: Charley’s medical history is unknown.
Owner Info: Charley has been abandoned at a boarding kennel. The owner of the kennel has cared for him since the end of April. Charley’s owners are avoiding all contact, by mail or certified letter. Charley desperately needs to find a foster home as the kennel owner really cannot keep him much longer. She owns three dogs herself and Charley cannot stay in the kennel indefinitely. She feels a shelter would not benefit Charley and she'd like to do the best for him.
She assumes Charley was overstimulated as he is perfectely clean in the kennel and has not even
ever stepped in his waste. He is extreamly sweet and kind and a very adaptable and patient dog.
He is a Shepperd mix who never had formal training. He needs a tolerant person able to handle a
large and playful dog. Charley is currently living as in indoor dog who is crated, he is leash trained
but not housebroken. He has been clean in his kennel and crate. History about Charley is not known. He is good with people of all ages including childred. Charley's owner said he was vaccinated and was supposed to bring in his vaccination papers but never did. They also said Charley had been blind since birth. He seems to be very healthy but perhaps hasn't had any care.
The kennel owner thinks he may have been kept in an outside pen or an apartment with people
who loved him, but did not care for him adequately. He has gained about 20lbsince he came to the
kennels and is just now starting to look well. This is a very sweet dog who truly deserves a good home.
She truly needs help with this dog since he is getting to the end of what he can do for him. The
boarding bill is now over $1000 and she will let it go, but cannot keep him much longer in the kennel
as he occupies a kennel she needs for clients. She feels very sad for Charley.
