Mr Cooper - Adopted

Name: Mr. Cooper
Sex: Male (altered per owner)
Breed: White GSD Mix
Age: 2 1/2 years (DOB 11/09)
Location: Hampton, VA

Vet/Medical Info: Mr. Cooper is confirmed neutered, but was due in April, 2012,  for all vaccines.  Mr. Cooper's owner has an appointment for his vaccines shortly and will update us once he's up to date.  She says he's in overall good health.

Owner Info: Mr. Cooper's owner just had one child and that limited her time with Mr. Cooper significantly. They just found out they are pregnant with #2.  She feels that she is not able to give him the time he deserves and he is a very good dog who deserves more than they can give. He is loving to those he gets to know and just all around kind. She's tried Craig's List and Facebook with no luck, and they love him and want to make sure he goes to a good home, not just ANY home.  Mr. Cooper is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard.  He is not housebroken, but he is leash trained.  He knows sit, stay, and down, if you have a treat!  They tried obedience training with him when he was a pup, but the noises frightened him, so they stopped after three sessions.  Mr. Cooper is a shy dog, and is good with women, and both male and female dogs. His owner says that because of his eye sight issues, he is not a playful, social animal, and he can have issues being around different people that he is not used to.  He is not possessive with toys, treats, or food.  However, because he was scared, his owner notes that he tried to nip at the vet when they put the muzzle on him to take him back for a bath for the first time. He's a timid dog, and will usually run and hide when frightened, but barks fiercely.   She does say he seems to be frightened of most things. Mr. Cooper was born with juvenile cataracts and the vet said he "sees like looking through a kaleidoscope", otherwise he is in good health.  Mr. Cooper's owner believes he'd do best with a couple or single person without kids. He is good with children he has grown with, but not children who come into his environment.
